Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kallstorm, yup. One to note for future with the ol bookings ;)

The ref is a bit card happy so I did the overs on the bookings also, never mind an early booking when you do that bet :)

If Sweden can get a few more men in attack they could have a field day, defense looks very suspect.

Getting flash backs of the Dutch poor decision making here early on

Sweden are really disappointing me here, not playing to form at all so far. Too lethargic

Ibra is far too deep or out wide. He hasn't been near the top the attack at any stage so far. Wasting him.

Early days but Ukraine are refreshing as they seem to go for it every chance they get.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Timo still doesnt have a booking? He must be getting disappointed

This will be the last time I back Sweden if they fail to get the job done tonight.

I do remember something similar years ago with them, put a lot on them and they played out a dour draw with someone muck, left them alone for a long time after that :)

    Ibra is pissing me off

Yeah, I have them at 17/4 (-1). Not looking likely today.

Surprising theres a few empty seats even for this game. OOOOh Ibrahimovic so close.

Not far off there. Should have been a goal really though from a player of Zlatan's quality.

For me the pass should have been made well before he went left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

    Ibra :(

Have him at first G\S at 5s. So close. That's where he needs to be though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Lol Ibra gets some stick :)

He was quite unlucky there, he should have scored, it was a matter of inches though, did everything right getting off his man, angling the ball away from the keeper into the far corner and got a bit of pace on it cause there was none on the ball when it came in to him

Entertaining game, good width from Ukraine. Moreso than the earlier match anyways. Magnificent stadium

Sweden are so much poorer at the back then I thought they would be, thought they would be solid if not spectacular, they are very poor though.

Fantastic stadium. Personally think the press (in England anyway) should be disgusted with themselves, they have gone all out to kill the tournament in Ukraine with scare story after scare story. Discouraging people to go, ending up with half empty stadiums. All the England fans who did bother to go have said how welcome they have been made to feel and have had no trouble at all and the locals have been really friendly. Even all the bullshat about overpriced accomodation is exactly the same as whats happening in London for the poxy Olympics. Double standards.

I know RTE have just mentioned it but there centre midfield doesn't look much more menacing than our own.

I won't be worried about playing them in the WC Qualifiers but I still feel they will be more consistent than us when it comes to playing the minnows.

    Good first half for Ukraine.

Sweden doing their best to be more boring than England.

The only problem with that is that the bloody commentator keeps saying Martin Larsson when Martin Olssen is on the ball

The poll came up on Rte, 37% of Irish fans still think Ireland will qualify from the group, what is wrong with people?

    Sample bias.

Anyway, I didn't think we'd qualify at all to get here so looking at it this way - playing the world Champions on Thursday with the eyes of the world on us with absolutely nothing to lose.

Every shot on target or half chance whilst the game is at 0-0 (or even 1-0) will be epic.

Ibra still far too deep. He needs to be on the end of those passes, not making them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭bwatson

Sweden are using a relatively new system aren't they? They don't appear to have quite found a balance in this game.

Goal. Now BBC might have to talk about the match after the 90 mins instead of showing England clips again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I am sick of this "should have played the ball out" rubbish - the new rules have been in place long enough now for everybody to know how it works.
