Damage to wardrobe door

    I am renting a house.
My toddler had a temper tantrum yesterday and threw her beaker. I have just seen today it hit the wardrobe door and caused a small crack in the wood. There is no damage to the inside of the door.

What should I do and how much is likely to be taken from my deposit?

Should I tell the landlord straight away?

Would this not come in under wear-and-tear?

I don't think that there's any need to inform the landlord. They'll probably inspect the place anyways before returning your deposit. If it's only a small crack, I doubt it'll be a problem.

You can buy a product called plastic wood that comes in a small tub, and is used for repairs like this. If you can match the colour of the wood, you should be able to repair it yourself for a couple of euro.
