Heading over to Spain for a few weeks so missing summer races here and was thinking it would be cool to get into a few local races, has anyone ever tried to do this? Are there one day licences or would I have to join a local club?

I think you have to hget your CI licence verified for international competition. This involves getting your picture on it and some extra paper work. Best get onto CI at Kelly Roche house about it TBH.

When I was younger I tried to use my Irish cycling licence (with International competition included) but French races wouldn't accept it. Maybe it works in Belgium but it didn't in France so I joined a local club there. I guess it would be simpler for me to join a local Spanish team. What would happen if someone showed up to an Irish race with a French or Spanish licence?

As far as I know he's racing on a French licence though he trains with us and rides in the Club league I'll ask someone in the know later.
