Well your an idiot of a teacher then. I'm sure ALL of your students have been studying for months now. Seriously, if someone can try to do a bit better, even at the last minute, then let them.

Should the break-even chart (if it comes), be done on graph paper or we just do it in the booklet ?

Hoping for a B2 in this. Got a B3 in the mocks, but it was marked horribly!
A nice ABQ would go down a treat...Praying for ratios to come up in long questions, along with something handy on the EU and the Consumer Information Act 2007.

Quite nervous though, really want to do well!

All year my class have been avoiding Q.1 and our teacher basically recommended do avoid it, anyone else doing the same?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60 ✭✭Iony94

We didn't do it either cause most of us do economics and find the International Environment Question easier.... I would look over Unit 1 just for the short questions

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60 ✭✭Dearbhaile

    ABQ <3
Can you give us some advice on how exactly to answer them?info required, how to quote etc?thanks!

Had revised 3/4 of the Rapid Revision book today. Have taxation to revise in the morning.

hey the taxation calculation that can be asked just

like your given wages and say it says get the first 26,000 at 20% and the next 14,000 at 41% and then you get the two taxes and minus the tax credit and then just tax the final tax from the whole wage?

Okay guys, little help. How much do you intend on writing for each long question. Say 4 points, a 20 marker. Would 2 sentences be enough and an example if possible.

What's the difference between Illustrate, Discuss and state? Thanks.

illustrate means explain giving an example
discuss means show the positive and negative
state is just state really :L

Panicking now. Didn't do unit 7 and barely know any of 6. The SQs better be based on the first five units!... at least 8 of them!!:confused:
I'm going to have to waffle for the part of ABQ based on u6 and I should be ok for LQs with first five units!!

There were 7As in my class last year, and 4 the previous year- I've a list as long as my arm of students who fight to get into my class. Good luck to all those who have put the effort in

Far from a c**t of a teacher. As I said in an earlier post - results prove that I encourage my hard-working students, not many teachers have 7As in their Business class most years. There are two in this year's group who did nothing...so, I won't be wishing them luck, only the students who have worked their socks off and learned all their notes.

It's impossible to give A1 answers and complete the paper in 3 hours. The timing got me. Should get a B but I wanted an A1 and knew all the questions and deserved it, but the crappy timing rules come into play again. They should do one exam a day and give us all the time between 9:30 to 5 to get it done rather than trying to save money by doing 2 exams a day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,576 ✭✭✭Coeurdepirate

Lovely paper! Kept loling throughout the exam at the ABQ, RIMjob Ltd.!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 244 ✭✭leavingcert.

Thought that paper was horrible! All the nitty gritty stuff came up in the questions i planned on doing :/ ..the ABQ and short questions weren't bad though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89 ✭✭waiting4

definately wasnt the best paper ever, misinterpreted a question and only realised at the end :(

Chronic paper, hated it. Probably only got 5/8 short questions right, ABQ was ok and didn't answer a whole long question apart from Q.5:o

Thought that was a great paper with the amount of effort i put in :D didn't get a few bits and bobs but overall think i should get a B.

I thought it went pretty grand. I wasn't prepared for a sources of finance on the abq . I did alright although I had accrued expenses down for long term .The last Q6 about the business plan I nearly answered it wrong and then I luckily noticed it said "Impact of technology" . Another question I nearly answered wrong was the last on Q7 when it said growth and expansion . I noticed fast luckily. I think I may have answered unfair dismissals wrong I spoke about what the unfair dismissal stands for and outlined the law :S.
I reckon a B1 though I used the correct formats and everything.

I nearly ran out of time. I was timing myself all through it I gave myself 30mins short questions then 45mins on the abq. Then onto the long questions but I stopped checking the time then. I got to question 6 I was on part B. I checked the time it was 12pm. I started rushing to make sure I got it finished as I wasn't even on Q7 luckily I just about made it with 10mins to spare so had a chance to look over everything. I did mean to go back and add things in to the questions but I didn't have the time. I got it finished though so thats good.

    I did questions 1,4,6,7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Geo10

Happy with that! Actually got it finished on time for the first time in my life!! :)
Left out unit 7 and only did 2 chapters in u6 so I was worried but I ended up being fine!
SQs: Grand. I did all 8 required ones!!! The 2 I left were the expansion one and the trading bloc one! Got done in 20 mins

ABQ: At first sight = SHOCK HORROR! I didn't do community development! But once I started doing it was actually very doable! Did it in 45 minutes!!
For A I said debenture/ long term loan for the company's premises and medium term loan for the vehicle. U also said something about own capital or overdrafts for rent.
For B I was able to pick out 4 clear reasons with links despite never having looked at community development, so happy with that!! I said: improves services of community, improves economy and wealth, improves social life and recreational activities/ outdoor park etc.
For C I evaluated 3 promotional techniques: Direct advertising through Internet, Sales Promotion, PR

    LQs:
    1. Very happy but for procedures in (a) I included why a dismissal is fair/unfair in the selection procedure as well as the verbal and written warnings and arbitration by RC if necessary/ EAT.. hope that's OK
    4. Nice but I hope I did A right! I said 4 factors were
    - the message being clear, concise and accurate
    - right medium of communication
    - right form of communication
    - right timing
And I gave about 2/1 examples in each case with different stakeholders
    5. Looked really nice but was running over time in letter so only got chance to talk about builiding & contents, motor and consequential loss insurance! I would have liked to talk about more!! I usually LOVE ratios but I blanked on the formula for ROI! I ended up using some random thing and got 12% I know I'll lose marks in calculation but will I also lose marks in profitability analysis now!??
    6. Parts A and B grand. Talked Bout iPhone. Only had like 6 mins to do part C so I ran faster than I ever did and got 3 benefits down.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,323 ✭✭✭Cruel Sun

    Very Happy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,218 ✭✭✭padocon

    Short Questions were nice.

How may points for the 30 mark ABQ? I had only time to write 3 good points

Also was the Profit at full capacity 125,000 euros?
