I only got sales promotion, PR , Advertising.
I was running out of time at that stage I needed to move on. I was going to come back to it. I hadn't got the time. I got the paper finished and I didn't want to leave any questions out.

I spoke about Long term finance for the RIM and then Medium finance for the stalls.
    Was this right?

    TR = 675,000 TC = 550,000

If you subtract them, you will find 125,000 is correct.

    It was difficult enough,

What did people say for sources of finance?

I said grants - leader plus, cause it wad a sustainable rural development.

Then equity capital from shareholders cause it was a ltd company?

    Then for stalls

Accrued expenses - as in paying the rent weekly. Think that's wrong though.

Then term loan for the vehicle.

    Debenture for the 400k warehouse.
Equity capital for the 50k refurbishment.
    Leasing for the vehicles.
Trade credit for raw materials and stock.

Do you think grant and accrued expenses were okay though?

I did this question , found it nice .....

    Commission - proposing new laws
    - preparing the budget
    - makes sure countries obey the treaties
    - censures countries that don t
    - take legal proceedings against individuals
    - made of 20 members elected by parliament

Ministers - main decision making body
    - passes the law
    - sets the political objectives
    - ensures co-operation between member states
    - depending on the topic a minister from each country is present
    - Approves the EU budget

What did you write for the developments in technology that facilitates globalisation

for part iii of the abq, i didn't list personal selling or Sales Promotion. I hinted at them, but didnt actually give the terms... Will I still get full marks? I portrayed clearly that I could interpret the ABQ, but I didnt assign what I said to be those kind of features...

Ye I didn't put too much down for it. Just that they both co-pass laws, commission puts forward proposals and Council makes final decision probably get 15/20.

    For gloabalisation I said:
-Worldwide ad campaigns via TV and internet
-Communication worldwide via internet and video conferencing
-new manufacturing technologies allow production on a huge scale
-developments in transport technolog such as Cargo planes and freighters

Short questions were ok. I knew like 6 of them and threw a guess at the other 2. Timing was horrible though , had to rush my last question and part B of the ABQ . I left out unit 2 and 3 and i still got through it. Happy out :D

For the current trends affecting the primary sector i said

1.Cut backs in the EU budget so less money from CAP and CFP
    2. Cheaper primary goods from other countries due to the European market

    What did yous say ?

Dapics i think you ll get most of the marks .

Ya I'd say thats fine. I said something similar.

I actually cant see how this was a nice paper. I thought it was an Ok paper.
    The short questions were Ok.
The marking scheme of the ABQ is kind of poor in my OP 20/30/30 and there was lots of Evaluating and Illustrating on the paper. That involves thinking and takes time. I think it was a time consuming paper.

Also did any one do the Question about leaders? Don't have the paper with me but the answer was of course: Authrocratic, Democratic and Laez ae fair. They asked a situation where each of these is good. Where is Authrocratic good? Don't think thats in our book btw.

I said Deregulation of trade barriers leading to more competition for them and Increase in trading blocs so they can trade for free. Not to sure if they're right though

    • E.U. Commissioners 1 per country over different areas e.g. Health Education
    • Propose new EU Laws for existing problems in respective EU Countries
    • Sends this proposed Law to EU Parliament where it is debated and changes made to it.
    • Returned to EU Commissioners where they change the law, incorporating the amendments to the law.
    • Sent to the Council of the EU where they have joint final say (with Parliament) e.g. Co-decision
    • As Council is the most important decision making body, if they agree it becomes law, if not, it doesn’t.
    • New Law is introduced to EU by either a Directive/Regulation or Decision
Had a lot about the Parliament, but for 20m that should be enough!
    • The Law is ensured to be followed by the Commission checking overtime

    .

    I said:
    • Large scale emigration from Rural-Urban Areas in Ireland in search of jobs has caused a reduction in the number of young people employed in the primary sector
    • Due to economic recession, there has been a fall in demand for raw materials for certain industries e.g. Construction

Made them up, but they sounded ok!

    Primary Sector?

I said oil exploration/gas/shale and linked it to tamboran
Then I went on about a downturn in peat production

    I said
-They continue to purchase a huge amount of machinery benefiting other businesses and the Irish tax bill.
-There is increased competition in the sector leading to a decline in the amount of businesses in the sector.

    Dont know if their right.
