CASE 4230 Diff Problem

Hi , i have a case 4230xl pro - there is a push button diff lock which when pushed will come on when it suits its self - it can take up to 10 seconds to engage when it does decide to come on, and turning it off is similar fun .... surely this is not right , any recommendations on how to fix it .
