Has anyone had any dealings with the Credit Union with regard to section 24 of the credit union act.?
I have a relative who is mentally incapacitated and is elderly. His money is in the credit union and we are trying to get his nursing home fees paid through that credit union under section 24. We have provided invoices. They refused the first time they were asked and the second time, they said they would pay part of the bills.
Not sure where to go next

    Thanks

This isn't the legal forum, could you tell us what S.24 is supposed to cover and exactly what steps you have already taken to invoke it?

Tbh all section 24 dealings are highly specific to the the people needed them and there for generic Internet responses are not really going to help.

Best to consult a solicitor to move it forward and satisfy the needs of both parties.

    Thanks for your replies

Section 24 relates to provisions for payments to be made on behalf of mentally incapacitated account holder. A statement must be signed stating that the monies issued will be used in the account holders best interests. This has been done.
I will try to talk to credit union again.
