Pre Space Marine reccomendations.

As Space Marine is free on PSN+ I have downloaded it straight away.
I plan on playing it after I finish Yakuza 3. I'm asking is for recommendations for books or comics on Warhammer 40k lore. I have always been interested to know more since I played the Strategy games on PC but never really read of it outside the game. I loved the diversity of factions and characters.

I would like something to read before I jump into space marine to give me some background and to get a good grasp on the 40k universe. Thank you.

I used to be big into Warhammer 40k, its a great universe/backstory they created for it.

finally got a few games online. wasnt a nat problem. btw the online is friggin rubbish!:D
