Yep. Generally for Mars missions the teams will set their clocks to the Mars clock as a day on Mars is slightly longer than a day on Earth. After several days the difference adds up. :)

A 'Day' is actually a deceptively simple concept.

First colour image from surface of Mars by Curiosity. The dust cover is still on the camera lens so that's why it looks a bit hazy.

^^^ Gale Crater looks a lot like Brittas Bay on a winters day!

Mount Sharp - all three miles up of it......

    Just watched that @ http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/24540690

Bit confused from the first question at 45:55, the way she is answering his question and how it was finished off by Mike Watkins and other lady saying that it sounds intriguing.

Is it just that she is saying they saw something which they want to discuss before going public with it or am i just missing something simple in that couple of minutes :o

    Derra,
From what I can make out, and this is just after my first pass, she was trying to answer the question posed to Sarah Milkovich, a member of the science team by Scot Gold of the LA Times, which was weather or not, it was true that one of the first hascam images had caught the Skycrane crash in the background. She said that the HASCAM's (and the rover) were facing in a direction perpendicular to the dust plume, in the direction of the (Skycrane)crash site. She said that team would need to mull it over.
Many thanks for the link, I missed most of the briefing and was waiting for a repeat.
