Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not in a ''howaye bud'' way either. Casual, but more like a '30s Germany kinda way. What to do? Should I talk to him about this, or should I just salute back?

What's the social norm for dealing with this kind of thing?

like a finger pushing away from his head kind of way? if it's not like a scene from nazi germany then it's fine

You salute him back in a more ''howaye bud' type of way as you say yourself and think no more about it.

    Also, watch Apt Pupil.

Salute him back but your way. It is quite common in England the Nazi Salute. Nothing bad is intended, its saying to other's who are loyal to their Country 'Hello'

I can't. There's no burds or car chases in it.

    It's the farmers salute

Have you never seen a man drive a tractor past you?
Or a farmer [or someone from a farm] salute you?

Extend the right arm out and move the hand

What has you worried OP :)

Come out dressed as a Rabbi one day and see if he still salutes you.

If he does, then he's not a Nazi and your just a paranoid guy dressed as an orthodox Jew.

If he doesnt then sue him for anti-faux-semitism.:pac:

Jesus what a depressing picture... Evokes a lot of feelings, not least the thought of what the people coming through there must have felt.
Scary stuff. A friend of mine visited there and when he came back home and told me about it it was obvious he was shaken by the experience.
I know some people who should definitely go there, to get some perspective, it's real easy to be blasé about it.

    A non-committal nod I think would suffice.
Either that or 'go away you mentalist'.

Templeogue Road. It's not shaped like a swastika though. But was once owned by a German guy who may have been a Nazi sympathiser, or an art collector, I forget which.
