    Where was that earlier Shay?

he's pretty much always been that shay

great shot stopper, zero command of his area. does the hard things well, not so great with the basics

Have we had possession in the opposition half so far this half?

I think we have lulled them into a false sense of overconfidence. :pac:

Wtf did defenders give it away in the build up. Suppose ya wont give crdit for that top safe

Wilson,Duffy and Clark need to be drafted up in September.

Ward and St Ledger need early retirment, they are just terrible.

Oh ffs , how was Given meant to save that, unless he was stretch armstrong. People shouldn't be surprised by the mistakes either, when your chasing the ball constantly the mind gets tired.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,787 ✭✭✭Jayob10

alot of those players were past their sell by date, Traps fault for asking too much of them and wrecking their reputation, Keane isnt a starter, Given is injured, none of the fresh crop were given a chance

whats the point of the new players doing well in training they know they wont be picked

How do you know they are doing well in training?

We just have a poor selection of players, poor players playing under pressure will make mistakes, its that simple.

One myth that has been proved is this so called defensive solidity. We have been extremely fortunate not to get a couple of hidings in qualifying.

Getting to these euros has been proved to be a miraculous achievement.

This is possibly the most one sided competitive international match I have seen in years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,317 ✭✭✭gavmcg92

Why do we keep standing off when they are at the edge of our box?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,968 ✭✭✭aindriu80

to be honest, when looking at an Irish player trying to make a pass to another player when it counts and miss its very disappointing when you see the passes completed with the Spanish.

We don't have any development programs for Irish players and its a lot of hit and hope

At least the players won't get downhearted at the scoreline as they haven't shown any heart to start with in this tournament :(.

Sometimes you just have to hold up your hands and recognise that we're coming second best to one of the best football teams ever to play together.

It's incredibly difficult to pass under these conditions, but that goes doubly so when you haven't had any practice in the last 4 years.

I'd bring McClean on for Whelan to play on the left, move McGeady to the centre and then with a few minutes left, just take Ward off and bring on Shane Long to whack it up to him!

We#re somehow managing to be 3rd best.

Westwood has to start against italy

Because Given is enjoying himself so much picking them out of the net so its only fair Westwood gets a turn?

    Great save there.

Quite frank and honest we are paying €2m a year for a manager who has the team set up to defend to the extent that they wont even cross the half way line. People tell me he doesnt have the players but he wont even try young players in friendlies.

Ya but our complete inability to pass for some reason makes Cyprus and co look good thats the main problem it really doesnt matter who we play this is basically it this is how our "system" works and its retarded

I refuse to believe "pros" most of which are from the top leagues in england are so inherently incapable of passing a ball 10 feet someone needs to give them confidence and freedom to do so and pick players not likedly to just **** it up the pitch,

I guess we now know what it feels like to be any team that plays Barcelona. It sucks :(

Would be delighted to walk away with a 3-0 loss and start over. Still half an hour to get through

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,211 ✭✭✭Happy Monday

We're lucky that Villa is not fully fit.
Had he been on I think it would be 4 or 5 now.
