Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jesus, we seem to love gifting early goals, just in case the opposition doesn't have enough confidence.

This Irish team is right up there as one of the worst to ever qualify for the euros

So far we have looked the worst team in this competition by a long, long distance :(

This could be a VERY long night. :(

If there was a world cup for football fans the Irish would walk away with it imo.

You actually knew, as soon as McGeady touched that to outside he was running it out of play

    Fcuking Mcgeady, poor.

At least we are getting players up there.

Ah McGeady. Get in the game son

Got a good laugh "You'll never beat the irish" and WHAM Torres scores a easy one. Classic Euro 2012 memory right there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭kitakyushu

Given is well past it. Should have stopped that as well as two the other night.

Did you not get the memo? Even tho he and Dunne make glaring mistakes every game they are both infallible and shall never be criticised by Irish fans.

I'm sure the crowd were referring to EU Bailouts!

Super finish by Torres. Ireland need to get stuck in.Nice play Andrews.
Super my arse. Was straight at Given and in his day/when on form that was touched over the bar

Vital that we don't concede again

Andrews is the only one who can hold his head high so far in the tournament.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Said it earlier today, this game is the perfect one to give Torres some much needed confidence and shooting practise for the rest of the tournament, wouldnt be surprised to see him end up with one or two more

No way is he stopping that shot.

I wouldn't blame Given for that. The power was something else!

lol just as Torres scored the local ice cream van drove into the estate playing the "show me the way to amarillo" tune!!

Have a feeling i'll want to be there by full time

Nah, Trap would bring the wrong fans and have them singing the wrong songs in the wrong key.

Torres could finish top scorer in Euro 2012 in this game alone if we don't get our **** together

It is his job to stop it especially when it was just over head high and he didn't have to move only to block it. Poor goalkeeping.

I think I'll sit back and watch Spain play some lovely passing football

Stephen Ward has no business playing international football, he is shocking

An exceptional Spanish side v an exceptionally poor Irish side. What did we expect? You don't win matches at this level with hope.

As long as the fans didn't have to play friendlies or qualify.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

We need to be so lucky and try to keep it down to one for as long as possible and then try to mug them with a free kick or something!

It's his job to make the saves he can make. That wasn't one of them.

This is shockingly bad. Spain are literally running rings around us. I don't think it's left our half more than twice in the last 5 mins

Most life I've seen in them with that break forward there!

Ireland are ranked the 18th best international side in the world. That is not "exceptionally poor".

We are too static when we have the ball. Too easy for Spain to mark us
