Couple of things worth noting about the ICOO D70 Pro II, a lot of people saying that the battery is only 2500mah, and not the 3000mah (Which is still low) they advertise. 2500mah is very low.
WiFi Reported to be a bit low, and standing beside the router still gets low reading (150kpbs).
Also a few people saying that its standard ROM isn't good for European users, like the UG802 it has Chinese play store and some items are blocked. So you would probably have to root it.

Thanks for the info. Some interesting points from others on Parcel Motel and customs too. Will keep this in mind. The NATPC is going a bit out of price range. So I think the best one so far is:

I'm always finding that by the time I check out with paypal I've been charged a couple of euros more than I expected. Is that because of a currency conversion fee or something? It's pretty annoying.

Looks the sellers are just being optimistic with their euro prices on sites and this hooks you in to buying. You get to the PayPal screen and just pay the poor euro currency conversion price. It worked on me

You can choose to pay in UK pounds or US dollars if you want, but Paypal will find a way to charge you anyway. I don't like using paypal, for many reasons, but one main reason being the way they charge, and their currency exchange rate is always different to everyone elses, even if they start on the same day of the month.

Interesting. Would you get a more favourable conversion rate by using a credit card usually?

Euronics stores nationwide are selling these with free cover & keyboard.

Not the highest specs but with the cover & keyboard bundle it works out as a decent deal @ €99 especially for those nervous about buying online.

    From the site:
UPDATE 30-NOV: More stock and a big announcement early next week!

I'm pretty sure the big announcement will be the availability of the MyGica ATV1200 dual core version.

As far as android set top boxes go these seem to be amongst the best available particularly as they are based on the amlogic chipset which has hardware acceleration in XBMC.

Will be interesting to see what the pricing of the ATV1200 is.

Depending on your budget and computer skills alternatives would be building a mini or micro ITX based media player running XBMC on Openelec or ubuntu you can put together something that will be a lot snappier than an android box for about £105 sterling for a budget build or for something pre-made you could consider this Zotac Zbox for around €155 + customs charges.

I know ye are probably sick of people asking questions like this but what do ye think of this tablet:

    http://hongkongeek.com/capacitive-screen/1629-7-onn-m2-amlogic-dual-core-15ghz-android-40-gps-1gb-ddr3-hdmi-8gb.html

Had a HP Touchpad, running cm9 but it was stolen, so don't want to go back to totally basic tech.

The GPS on this would make it attractive as I had the touchpad in the car with me a lot, but it didn't have a GPS which was a bit annoying.

The size won't bother me that much, as I wasn't using it for much gaming (outside of a GBA Emulator and the usual Angry Birds etc.).

That works out at roughly €140, + Basic Shipping (Registered) @ €20
Despite their name, they are not based in the UK. I got stung with customs ordering from them. Luckily i was just testing them, and it was only €5.30 or something.

If you go with HongKongeek for the same tablet it's €173 delivered. HongKongeek include the VAT (hence they offer to pay it if you get charged) in the price, so you have no hidden costs.

So for the extra €13 and faster delivery, I'd go with HKG.

    Android Mall = €140 + €20 (Basic Shipping) + Possible VAT @ €40 = €200
    HongKongeek = €173 Delivered.

Hi yes I am very happy with my new ainol hero 10 tab. Have been playing around with it lastnight and today. Today I flashed it with CM10 custom ROM. This is my first tablet and my first attempt at flashing anything! I have to say I can't really fault it in any way. For the money I paid I am delighted with it.

    Great specs for the price.
    Onda v811 8"
    €118
    RAMOS W28 PRO 7"
    €102

No Camera on the Onda and no mention of the battery size..
As an alternative to that i'd go for the CUBE U23GT

The Ramos has a 3000mah battery, no HDMI out (Not a biggy, but if you hadn't noticed, worth mentioning), No Camera (Maybe you don't want a camera?)..

As an Alternative Maybe the CUBE U30GT

I stayed around the same price and storage on purpose. There are 8GB models for around €75 that i may have gone for.. Or not..

The Onda has a 4000mAh battery according to other specs I found.

The Cube U9GT3 is a better alternative to the U23GT, essentially both the same tablet but the 9 has an IPS screen and the 23 does not.

I bought the bigger 9.7" Cube U20GT for my son a few months ago, build quality of it is very good and it flies along with the Rockchip dual core processor. The only issue has been the charger which died after a week, I got a new one from the UK on ebay.

No it doesn't, lots of sellers have it listed in the specs as having an IPS screen but if you get feedback from owners on the likes of slatedroid they all confirm that it does not.

Only one guy there says it's not.
    From Cube-tablet.com
    Cube U23GT NO build-in bluetooth.
Cube U23GT come with hdmi connection
Cube U23GT screen made of ips glass.

Umitablets, ellphonemic, all sellers i've seen on aliexpress, Cube-Tablet,Cube-stores and many more sites all say it is an IPS screen.

I have one on the way as of Thursday, with an Ainol Crystal, i'll open it and check it out when it arrives.

By all accounts, even if it isn't an IPS screen, all users seem to agree the screen is very good.

For definite, it is a qHD screen.

It probably isn't an IPS screen, as i doubt you'd have so many people asking. I'd imagine the Spec sheet from the factory said it had IPS, hence so many sellers saying the same, but changed their minds somewhere during production.

    Edit..

    TN qHD? possibly?

    Thanks for the help.

I didn't want a camera but did want HDMI! Glad I checked Boards.

I was looking at only AML8726-MX processors as I thought Rockchips and Allwinners were inferior. However, a lot of people seem to like the Cubes.
