Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That is a depressing thought. Although it's probably true, Ger Canning has got a lot more games this time. Marty probably wants some of the action too.

This GAA assimilation started as a joke, it is becoming all too real :(

I think hes grand apart from the made up commentry that you hear. He said they call Huntelaar 'the hunter' the other day.

Ibra showing great strength and balance there

Does the backheel to nobody work in the Swedish leagues?

Ibra has been brilliant so far, its such a shame he is alone

Ibra is head and shoulders above everyone else here.

Now this I agree with. It's unfortunate that he's been lazy with his passing.

Have England resorted to their shell already?

It does. It's just that Roy has seen it so many times from his time there that he's devised a defensive strategy for it. He's also found a solution to the long ball to no one and the thru ball to no one by the look of it.

They did that as soon as they scored

Yep, passing has a bit iffy tonight. Needs to up that in the second half or better yet, not pass at all.

They are so slow to get forward

Come on manager you know what you have to do

Ibra and Carroll have both been very good!

They do, or at least they did

Sweden, as poor as they have been have gotten behind England a couple of times and shown they can cause problems, my bet is still intact if he trys to be more positive in the second half

He should get a lend of Bernard's watch if he can. Cross the ball in, stop the watch, walk into the box and get on the end of his own cross.

Thats the problem the Swedes have, if he isnt creating something nobody is!

Welbeck is black and Parker is white right?

You wouldn't easily get them confused I would have thought, unless your Eamonn Dunphy I guess

Brilliant header. He had absolutely no challenge from either of the defenders though.

Young is rubbish, maybe Downing needs to come on at least he'll stick to the line. ;)

His movement was good to get in between them but yeah they both could have done much better, only one man to pick up between them!

A few flashes here and there but I thought, given what a player he can be, Ibra's been largely ****e, as has the entire swedish team, who looked like they came to make up the numbers for about 40 minutes.

Milner, Cole and Welbeck in parts have been quite good.

Carroll's been the best player on the pitch. He seriously looks up for it.

A special mention for Jonas Olsson who I ****ing hate. Contstantly shoving, getting digs in, leaning on players at set pieces, climbing all over people in the air and somehow, he constantly gets away with it. He's bloody annoying, and I don't even want England to win.

Have to disagree, Ibra has been very good, you have to take into account how poor the rest of them have been, he is the only one doing anything right!

He has been the best player on the pitch for me.

Sweðen need to push Ibra right up top. Terry and Lescott were bouncing off him like little kids the odd time he did find himself further forward.

Elmander is as slow as fook. I'd take him off and stick an extra midfielder on which I think would make Sweðen more of an attacking threat.

England need to hold possession better and not fall in to the trap of falling back and sitting on their lead.

Dumpy says no more goals in this game. I say maybe a couple more.

If Sweden push Ibra right up and take off Elmander they will never get the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Should have been a yellow for Carroll.

17 of Sweden’s 20 goals at European Championship finals have come in the second half.

Lol. Delighted, just because the two lads said there wasn't a goal here for Sweden. Suck on that.
