My parents PC just quit on them last week and they are onto me to pick a new one for them. I've been looking around for a cheap enough desktop but haven't been able to find too much. They really just need an internet machine but I'd be reluctant to go for something with a really old processor and less than 4GB of Ram, which is most of what I can find! I could also go with a laptop as long as it has a VGA output on it as they already have a monitor from the old one. Most laptops in the price range seem better than the towers! Any help here would be appreciated!

That's pretty interesting, I might end up going down that route. I've put a few PC's together before so I should be well up to the task but I've never bought the parts so I wasn't sure where to look. That with a bigger hard drive would do the job fine for my parents needs.
