Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No it is the way you come across. You seem to want to challenge everyone but not in a constructive way if you get what I mean.

Constantly being accused of being a troll because I amn't a lick arse. I prove someone wrong like earlier with Mitch and they reply with oh "he clarified his point later". No he didn't, he said what he said.

Just want to remind ya that you're not a moderator around here, any further incidents like the examples above will be considered back seat modding and will result in cards.

He "meant" doesn't matter a thing. He still made the first post.

If I post porn on this site I'll get a ban, saying I "meant" to post a link to a Man Utd site wouldn't save me.

He didn't post anything that was a banable offence so that comparison is pointless.

This is a discussion forum, peoples' messages can get confused in discussions, so what they actually mean is of course important. It is not like what Mitch is now clarifying he actually meant is completely contradictory to what he originally posted. The only issue is that his original post was a bit unclear. He has since clarified what he meant. Build a fúcking bridge.

I wouldn't doubt it is true that any poster may have been accused of trolling many times on this thread. But I would doubt that anything you say is true because you have a record of posting nonsense. So could you provide evidence that you have been accused of trolling many times?

Does anyone know the structure of the loans?

Would there be penalties for paying them off early, or that we're not allowed pay them off before a certain date etc.

You do realise this all started by you complaining about off topic posts but since that time you have more off topic posts here than anyone.

Have you ever heard of the word CONTRADICTION

Actually no you don't. You could just say, "oh I've got a yellow card there, maybe I should leave this for a while, after all it's only a message board with people I don't know". Then you can take a few minutes to reflect on what just happened and ask yourself if one poster asking another poster about his interview was really what got your back up or is there something more important that's causing you to lose the rag so easily

    Well obviously.

Anyway, this thread has been lacking one vital topic for the last few pages.

    Michael Carrick

As far as I can remember someone said he was useless.

    @Samich

Just draw a line under all this and move on.

I don't doubt that you're a passionate United fan. Next time you compose a post, just have a quick read of it and reflect on whether it's going to rile people. You don't rile me but I can see how you rile others.

You have the attributes to be a good contributor...all that's needed is a slight cooling of the jets.

Forget the "he said" / "I said" stuff...it always ends in tears. And if you've an opinion which is controversial (which isn't a crime), be sure to be able to try and back it up.

    Have a good evening.

Spending all my nights, all my money, goin' out on the town
Doin' anything just to get you off of my mind
But when the morning comes, I'm right back where I started again
And tryin' to forget you is just a waste of time
Football come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Football come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong and I just can't live without you
All day long, wearing a mask of false bravado
Tryin' to keep up a smile that hides the tears
But as the sun goes down, I get that empty feeling again
How I wish to God that you were here
Football come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Football come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong and I just can't live without you
Now that I put it all together
Give me the chance to make you see
Have you used up all the love in your heart?
Nothing left for me, is there nothing left for me?
Football come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Football come back, you can blame it all on me(Listen, Football)

Coincidentally, I just came across a very stat-heavy article about Carrick, with some comparisons to other midfielders, some interesting stuff in there.
    http://www.eplindex.com/16827/michael-carrick-man-uniteds-heartbeat.html

It basically shows how he has improved since stepping into a key role in the team, and the trend suggests that Ferguson sees him as an indispensable part of the club.

And declared Spurs would be the team of the 90's.

I remember Fergie did an hour long interview with some Sky News reporter a few years back and when asked about did he ever regret not signing any players he said Gazza was the only one he ever regretted missing out on.

To lighten up the mood.... I saw is on one random united fan page on FB:
Cristiano Ronaldo - "When I played in our red 3rd kit last season it always reminded me of Manchester United and they will always remain in my heart, they are the team that made me this big and I am all just because of Manchester United. I hope to be a part of them in future."

Don't know if it's legit what he said - and I don't care, I choose to believe it!!

    COME BACK HOME RONNIE!!

Fergie re Chicharito (from "Inside United"):

"I think this season we'll see a better Chicharito. For the last four or five years he's played all through the summer. This year, with the co-operation of Mexico, he's had a proper rest. And that started right back in May when I decided not to take him to Belfast for the Harry Gregg testimonial. We wanted to give him as much rest as possible. He had a couple of weeks off and then joined the Mexico side for a couple of qualifying games before getting another few weeks' rest. That was important for him and I'm sure he'll reap the benefits. We've already seen the fruits of that in the early training sessions and I think he'll have a top season."

Would love to see him have a big season.

If they only used the money from the IPO to buy Ronaldo and the equity deal to pay him we would be so happy*

I'm not sure how many chances he will get this year, as far as I can see, it's looking like Rooney will be playing as the lone striker with Kagawa in behind, failing that I think Danny seems to be higher up in the pecking order.

You've raised a decent point though with that remark, how much of the fanbase would forget about this restructured IPO news if we were to make a big marquee signing?

Imo Jose would be up there as the ideal replacement. There's not many managers out there I think that have the character to replace Fergie. Someone like David Moyes on the other hand would be a disaster, more suited to a small club. I strongly doubt he could handle the spotlight he would be under as Fergusons replacement. Jose on the other hand would relish the challenge of the United job.

I'd take him in a heartbeat anyway, and I get the feeling he wants the job too.

the vast majority, just like they don't mind hundreds of millions being taken out of the club to pay for the debt over the last 7 years.

My sentiments exactly, could be part of the reason we're in for Lucas/RVP despite neither filling our major need. But I suppose that just could be over-analysing a little...

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 802 ✭✭✭Jame Gumb

My own personal choice would be Carlo Ancelotti.

Double winner in England, European Cup winner as manager and player, the right age, an advocate of good football, interested in youth football and carries himself with dignity.

Mourinho's achievements are undeniable but there's baggage there too.

It's the $64,000 question - Who will get the gig and who's the right man for the gig?

The IPO and a big signing, well I suppose it would change the immediate focus to the new player and some would forget about the IPO.

the people who are really angry over the IPO won't move on/forget full stop,

it would be interesting to see what happened alright with headlines etc.

    Mod Note:

The next time this thread goes that far off topic, when the subject is no longer football but the thread itself, the first five posters who are involved in that will be banned from the thread for a week.

If you think someone is back seat modding, report it. If you say it to anyone, you will be getting an infraction.

To put this more clearer, could everyone stop being a dick? The season is about to start. I'd like to read about actual football.
