Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

plus you could imagine the player staying couple of years in Manchester and then moving to Spain

This is so silly, if we let this line of thinking dictate who we buy then we'd only buy English players.

Another random guy on twitter just said he is having a medical at Old Trafford right now. Wow, this transfer is moving fast. He'll be sold to Madrid by the morning!!

My opinion is the kid would see United as a stepping stone and I've never ever said that about a potential United transfer

Can you list 10 Brazilians or Argentinean'S who play top football in the PL?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

Do the Da Silva twins count as one or two? :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,561 ✭✭✭Winston Payne

One thing that does annoy me is the insistence that either Hazard or Kagawa are ten times* better than the other player they're being set against. They're both young, both league winners in other countries and both set to play in the Premier League for the first time. How about watching both of them actually in the bloody league first before making a judgement?

    * = any hyberbole can be used here.

Is 17 good enough for you?

Sergio Agüero – Manchester City F.C.
Federico Bessone - Swansea City A.F.C
Fabricio Coloccini – Newcastle United F.C
Jonás Gutiérrez – Newcastle United F.C
    Maxi Rodríguez – Liverpool F.C
    Denis Stracqualursi - Everton F.C
Carlos Tévez - Manchester City F.C.
Pablo Zabaleta – Manchester City F.C.
    Anderson – Manchester United F.C.
    David Luiz – Chelsea F.C.
    Doni - Liverpool F.C.
Fabio da Silva – Manchester United F.C
Rafael da Silva – Manchester United F.C
    Ramires – Chelsea F.C
    Sandro – Tottenham Hotspur F.C
    André Santos – Arsenal F.C
    Lucas Leiva – Liverpool F.C

You're making assumptions based on nothing, at least admit it.

Are you taking the piss? I said top players? Maxi doesn't even play for Liverpool anymore and half of that list is pure ****e

My assumption is that a top top South American will hope to play in Spain rather than UK. Records have shown that, it is not assumption. I would rather get a someone long term than a stepping stone

I see, so in future we should not sign any South Americans? Got ya.

Presumably you also think we should not sign any Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or French players?

Presumably you also wish we had never signed Ronaldo?

Yes, it all makes perfect sense.

No that is not my point, I am all for looking for talent but at this stage a PROVEN WORLD CLASS CENTRAL MIDFIELDER is what United need. Spending 30 million on some Brazilian kid who plays in a **** corrupted game in SA is not top of my agenda

But what if we show an interest in a "PROVEN WORLD CLASS CENTRAL MIDFIELDER" who is from South America, or Spain, Portugal, France, Germany?

How do you determine who is not looking to use Utd as a stepping stone?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,511 ✭✭✭VW 1

@manutd99, you clearly said play top football in the PL. you were given 17 as opposed to the 10 you asked for, granted Maxi can be removed from that list now.

*edit* the 17 players magic marker gave you were all from teams in the top ten of the PL, if you don't deem that top class, what is? */edit*

Also, can you please name this top class proven CM you are talking about that is available and willing to come to us, that will be able to be purchased at 30m?

Just a name, one name, is all the reply I want from you.

Its his dream to play for................................

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7795561/Moura-reveals-Real-dream-

He was very poor vs Denmark and got subbed off. If you saw that game you would say he was worth 2 million!

Y'see that article has put its own spin on it. It clearly says he says It would be a dream. Not my dream.

Who cares what he says. If Real want him they can buy him off us. Even if he turns out to be schit for United we can recoup some money from Real.

Ignoring the rest of this for a while, were you not happy to have had Ronaldo at the club despite him seeing us as a stepping stone?

Does it concern you at all that Kagawa also has a career path in mind that sees him play in La Liga?

This lad hasn't even put pen to paper for United yet and some are discussing his next move.

Well in this thread he has signed for United, Wants to go to Real Madrid, and I'm posting on twitter he wants to Manage in Serie A.
His career has been mapped out. He better not fook it up by staying in Brazil.

You called up a number from the Sunday World sports section that charged 3 euro a minute to listen to some pre-recorded message informing you that Del Piero was about to sign for United and then a month later your ma would get the bill double the normal price and grounded you for calling sex lines.

Think I'll get in my time machine now and skip the next 8 hours or so, and see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully A quote from someone official will update us on what is actually going on.

Robin Van Persie spotted house hunting in Manchester.

    @espnsoccernet

Robin Van Persie spotted house hunting in Manchester.

This kind of stuff just makes me laugh though, did the "spotters" go and say, "hey Robin what are you doing here?" " Oh nothing really, just a bit of house hunting mate" "Keep it under your hat though eh"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

My favorite thing about house hunting is that it implies that the deal is done to a point that Van Persie is thinking, hmm, where should I live?

It would be like all of us looking at flats after we applied for a job.

It is without the silliest of all the transfer rumours I think.

Van Persie coming to United is dependent on two things, how much Van Persie wants to come here vs. say City and how much of a cutdown Arsenal are willing to accept.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,553 ✭✭✭✭Copper_pipe

If he is house hunting in Manchester why would anyone assume it is United he is thinking of.Unfortunately the noisy neighbours are interested as well.

Maybe he'll only consider moving to United if he can find a nice enough house. Might go start a twitter rumour to that effect now.

While the house hunting rumours are nonsense, surely he is.city bound if he moves to another prem club???
