Your're quick off the mark !

    The results are hidden? Why?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,753 ✭✭✭fitz0

But we can only see what we voted for. We don't get to see the entire results and I'm damned curious.

    38. Whoever said the first 40 years of childhood are the hardest better not have been lying....

Opticom I'm pretty sure you can still show the poll without showing the people who voted.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 362 ✭✭Opticom

Some people may not want to broadcast their age, and some people are not bothered.
I would have just preferred a totally anon option for everyone, rather than just a hidden one, but there was none available when setting up the poll. Mods etc. can access the results and see who voted where if you're really interested for whatever reason.

    NOT HAPPY

May I ask what is the agenda behind a Christian* creating a poll in the A&A forum which fails to make the results available?
    Why are you interested OP?
What do you intend to do with the secret results?

    Doesn't sit well with me.

No harm in it. But its a survey, not a poll. PEDANT ALARM!!!

Surveying a tiny sample of a tiny sample of....

I prefer when people are upfront about why they are gathering information on those they disagree with...when the results of that 'survey' are also hidden from those who took part it creates diverse alarums in my cynical little mind.

They weren't hidden when I did the poll on my phone. Was that added later?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,640 ✭✭✭Pushtrak

Whatever the results are, it is most likely not going to be too far away from what you'd find here, or more specifically, here.

We're all angry rebellious teenagers - we'll come to our senses when we grow up a bit.

I was born in 1980 for the record.

Also notice how those results stay anon without being hidden. Opticom just change it will you.

And 31 votes ain't gonna tell anybody anything much...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,640 ✭✭✭Pushtrak

Another point to bring up. It isn't just atheists who would read this forum. Lurkers could easily vote in the poll which would throw off any kind of measure of what you are going for on this one.

So its really like any other boards poll. Creates a pretty pie chart. How come there was no 'Atari Jaguar' option.

    In the spirit of inclusivity?

I'm just getting results hidden - on a laptop.

Try it on your phone? The pie chart is pretty.

Not sure what it could be for all the same.... T-shirt print?

About a third of us are lime green. I'm not though. I'm a kind of aquamarine. Same colour as the bottom of the seal pool in the zoo on a sunny day.

Or I could just continue to complain until he tells us why he wants to know.

Am not in the slightest bit interested in the results I want to know why she/he wants to know but don't tell her/him that. :pac:

Perhaps a similiar poll over in the other forum to see if they are all moribund octogenarians or older?

*Ventured into back garden with brunch in mind. Realised it's fecking freezing and blustery. Returned to sofa to continue bickering with Christians in warmth and comfort as befitting my status as a 'woman of a certain age.'*

Pale beige is now my official default colour.

Pale beige is the average colour of the universe. Hang on there. I'll dig out the link....

Weird, I just put personal information onto a website and can no longer see it, what it's part of or what its being used for.

    This feels like Facebook.

Can we get extra votes to include our kids in the survey too?

Don't know why some people can see the results and others not.

The intention was for everyone to see the results, but not get to see which age individual posters had selected for themselves. I thought that would be fair enough, as some people prefer more privacy than others.

As for changing it in any way, it doesn't allow me to, so perhaps a mod can.
