I'm in mid thirties and need to get insured for first time. I only have a learner permit and not full licence. Obviously I need my insurance o be as cheap as possible, I've been a named driver on partners insurance for a couple of years.

Is it possible for my partner to add my car to her policy and for me to be a named driver on her policy? That'll mean there'll be two cars on her policy then.

25 plus is the company she's with.

nope its not possible. And just like a 17 year old if you go to insure it in her name then they will rate it on the most loadable driver, i.e. you! Also if you decided to chance that route the car should be registered in her name.

You can only insure something you own, so your GF cant have it on her policy. There are a few insurers that take named driving experience into account, so try ring a few brokers - they know the tricks to get the best prices.
