Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The silva - franklin fight should hopefully be good but the rest of the fights are all from the Brazilian TUF and the fights were terrible in that season. I stopped watching halfway through. If it's he card goes anything like the TUF Brazil show then we're in for a pretty boring card.

An event to satisfy the growing/massive Brazilian market really, main event could be good, interesting to see how Werdum goes too. Nothing else of interest to me.

Main event is a rematch that I couldn't really be arsed about. However, I really want Werdum to destroy Russow. If Russow wrestlefu**s his way through 3 rounds for a win, it means he could be in line for a title shot he really doesn't deserve (IMO).

I am looking forward to the FX card this weekend far more, this is probably one of the worst cards of the year however it will defo be watched however not live.

Agree with this assessment. Silva vs Franklin will be a great fight as they both always bring it, but boy this is a poor card. I could see Russow grinding out a boring decision.

These are two great fights from the FX card

    Clay Guida vs. Gray Maynard
    Spencer Fisher vs. Sam Stout

Still two UFC cards over one weekend is always good !

I'm interested in watching the Silva-Franklin fight, and I always like getting to watch Werdum. I'm not too pushed on any of the TUF Brazil stuff because I wasn't too impressed with that season.
I'll end up watching it anyway of course. Its an illness really....

Im amazed that Russow has made it this far in the ufc while working as a cop fighting full time professional fighters

so its ufc on fx tonight then tomorrow night ufc 147? strange they are so close together

I am going to be very interested in seeing the PPV numbers for this card. The lowest in recent times was UFC 85 with 215K but that card was a lot more stacked than this card.

In my opinion this is the worst PPV in modern times.

Imagine how awkward that one would be!

This is just starting now on Facebook.
It's a pretty poor card but ya have to love the Brazilian crowds. The place is jammed to the rafters and it's only the first Prelim fight.

Jesus, the TUF finals were very poor!

I was like everyone here, couldn't stick TUF Brazil to the end. And it looks like I didn't make a mistake!

The Ferreira capoeira kick was awesome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

I loved Ferreira/Moraes personally. Very exciting, back-and-forth fight. Ferreira obviously didn't bring his A game (judging by research alone, I didn't have time to squeeze TUF Brazil in) and Moraes stepped up to capitalise, but it made for a fun fight.

The rest of the card...well it was something to watch, I suppose...

This is surely the quietest thread for a numbered event for a hell of a long time! Says a lot about the card!

I really don't understand the logic behind making this a numbered event. Complete lack of star-power, 2 TUF finals and a main event that could've been a decent headliner on a Fight Night card.

Why wasn't it just a TUF Finale? As someone said above, i'd love to see the PPV numbers for this!

It was originally meant to have Silva vs Sonnen 2 as the headline with Belfort vs Silva as the co-main event. That's more than enough to warrant a numbered event. I guess with the late rearranging of the card they had to keep the number attached. The UFC even offered full refunds on tickets due to changes.

Ah yes, very true! I had completely forgotten about the Silva v Sonnen fight being scheduled for this event.

What an event THAT would've been!

The ppv buys for this will be terrible. I had a look around for info on it this morning but nothing has been released yet. Some people are saying it got much less than 200k buys but nothing confirmed yet.
Maybe it'll be a kick in the arse for the UFC to put on more stacked numbered events. Although to be fair this is very poor by normal standards.

The FX show was a much better collection of fights than this.

Although, I really enjoyed Silva v Franklin. You're never gonna put those 2 guys in a cage and not get a good fight!

Yep. Really poor fights. They should've had that as the UFC on FX card and made the FX one a numbered event.

mark goodards standing fighters up pissed me off.
that ferreira chap looked pretty poor in the stand up, what the hell were roberg on about praising him all the time??!
much preffered the fx fights the night before alright.

The PPV numbers mightn't have been terrible, that's if the Brazillians pay PPV.

According to Joe rogan TUF Brazil airs on the Brazil equivalent of RTE2 and attracts 12 million viewers per show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,257 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

UFC is shown on free TV in Brazil. No PPV!

UFC 134 Silva v Okami - 30m viewers in Brazil

UFC 142 Aldo v Mendes - 23m viewers in Brazil

UFC 147 Silva v Franklin - 20m viewers in Brazil

TUF Brazil averaged 10m viewers a week

147 set an attendance record and was watched my a huge amount of people in Brazil, but is expected to have had the lowest PPV buyrate since UFC 55!
