I'd still be interest most likely, but I have fairly little to contribute sadly as I am a total beginner.

I'd say the majority of us have no idea!!

Oh yeah, I mean the closest I've come to playing D&D is watching people play it on YouTube videos!!

You should watch Dungeon Masters, it's a documentary about D&D...... Very weird but also funny

I didn't see the replies fit a while, I think we have about 4 people at the moment.

I'll try pm a few people from the thread to get another or two.

I feel like we are finally nearly there!!!

I'm away this weekend but can meet up during the week or you can fill me in if ye meet up

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

I can meet up pretty much any day after 6 PM.

EvilWonka: Did you managed to contact anyone already? It seems like only we are checking out this thread.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 Aaronogrady

So glad we are actually getting this sorted, I'm looking at my 5th edition starter set and player handbook right now with serious excitement!

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 InTheMidst

Was searching for a gaming group in Cork and saw this thread. Aside from one game of Munchkin about ten years ago, I'm new to gaming...Do you welcome complete noobs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,560 ✭✭✭Boro

I have email notifications turned on for the thread but I would mark the emails as unread and never actually come back here :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 Aaronogrady

Well guys don't worry, you aren't too late. We've actually yet to organise anything! But its great to hear from more people. I think that brings our numbers up to 5 which sound like a nice solid group! As far as us taking in complete noobs, don't worry because I think that's actually the case with all of us!

well if we can arrange for a tuesday or a thursday or something like that, from 7-8pm onwards, then I'm definitely interested. I do have the 5e stuff and I have a campaign in mind. It was more aimed towards experienced players but Im sure we could make it work.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

I can go with both Tuesday and/or Thursday.

    So far we have:
    · EvilWonka - haven't hear from him in 2 weeks tho
    · Aaronogrady
    · Lucky2501
    · Batchick
    · Boro (DM)
    · BrainDead83

I've PMed this thread link to people that I think might not have it, so we could discuss the details here with everyone.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19 Batchick

Thursday is better with me but I'm easy going.

    Yay for multi noob play.

Oh where are we going to be playing ? I hope its somewhere city centre as I don't drive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

For some reason I cant edit my post.

I forgot to add InTheMidst to the list.

Great - Thanks for welcoming complete gaming noobs! I'll try not to go all "Leeroy Jenkins" :)

    Hey there,
    Awesome, Im really excited.
I hope I can make it, my schedule has been unpredictable lately
Could I know what system would be used ?

We are going with 5e - if that's what you mean.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 Aaronogrady

Great to see this many people showing interest! After having this thread going on for 3 years it looks like this might finally have a direction

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

How about we finally meet up?
I suggest going for a coffee on Thursday - 7pm
(Costa Coffee - Marchants Quey Shopping Centre)

We could talk how we want to proceed from there.

    What do You guys think?

  • Registered Users Posts: 19 Batchick

I know you all have much more exciting things to do but Friday would suit me better if at all possible ?
It would make sense to meet and discuss things so I am definitely up for that.

Maybe if you guys go ahead with the meet you could fill me in after ? If Friday doesnt suit people (as I'm sure it does not mostly)

Well as of right now it looks like I can do both days

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

I'm fine with both Thursday or Friday meet at the coffee shop.

It would be good if Boro could show up, since he will be our DM.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 Lucky2501

I'm free thursday, but can't make it if its friday.
sorry for the delated reply btw

I won't be able to make it to the meeting today, as I've something else on. Hope it goes well :)

If it's okay with ye, I'll sit in on one of your first games as a spectator and see what D&D involves?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

The attendance today was not the best, its a shame that 4 of You guys couldn't make it.
I did have a really nice chat with Lucky2501.

The biggest problem right now is that we do not have a DM.
I still haven't heard from Boro.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34 InTheMidst

Could you start off the gaming group with another game? Maybe a much easier one and something that doesn't require a DM :) Then, you could progress to D&D as the group grows.

I have DM book for the 4th edition.
I can take a read through it and be the DM to start.
That way we can start a game soon!

Has a plan been made or should we do another meet up (that we can all attend) :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

I'm all up for the meet.
Give me a place and time and I'll be there (if its after 6:30 pm during the week).

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 BrainDead83

OK, since no one wants to suggest time and place, how about we try Thursday 7pm once more.
This time in Costa Coffee near the Opera House (6 Emmett Pl), the one in Merchants Quay Shopping Center is already closed at this hour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 Lucky2501

I won't be able to make it this time, unfortunately.
I could make it friday, but that's about it.
Anyway, Its fine if I don't attend, since me and braindead have already met up, and the important thing is to meet the DM as well as other players and discuss a good location.

Something we agreed upon was that this forum might not be the best, especially for arranging meetings, since I barely ever get notified of new posts or private messages.
