Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2 - 0 to Ireland. Croatia to be docked points for their fans racial abuse. Ireland and Spain to progress. Ireland to do a Denmark 92 ;)

ha ha very good think we'll set the banana stalls up outside the crotia game to spur them on.

Same and am actually disappointed that I'll miss the Spain Croatia (no bbc 3 on sky plus!) Has the makings of a cracker. Can't see how neutrals would prefer to see our game

Edit- got confused there can record it as it's on BBC one. Should be great game

You have bbc3 on sky anyway, should be there under other channels? if not then you can manually tune in a bunch of channels, there is a tuner guide in the tv forum i think

    bbc3,4
    ITV2,3,4
    few others

Edit: I see what you meant now :)

28oC and on the way to Poznan square .

Absolutely wasted after seven days non stop, but it won't stop us cheering on the lads.

It's been pretty bitter sweet up until now so hoping to get some sort of a result tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

Really hope the team puts on a performance tonight and get the confidence back before the WC Qualifiers and hopefully we dont give away anymore sloppy goals tonight,be great to see Trap change his tactics tonight and let the team off the leash and let them play a bit.

Yeah I know it's a vitally major issue and all but are Ireland wearing home or away gear tonight? (heard rumours they had to switch to white for this game).

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,516 ✭✭✭Hoki

Any word on Balotelli playing tonight , iv to decide on himself or Di Natale for my fantasy football team.

I think its white we are wearing tonight,

Paris was over 2 years ago and as you rightly point out, some of them are reaching their sell by date. I just don't think they have it in them anymore. 2 years is nothing to a 20 year old, but 2 years on when you are in your 30's is a different story.

The reality of it is that we do not have a good team, well below average in fact, and they did mighty well to qualify so fair play to them. They have though underperformed in the opening two games, but still barring a miracle, would never realistically have gotten anything from either match. All we can ask is that they go out there tonight and give 100%, and if they do that, they can hold their heads high and bask in the fields of Athenry (though maybe someone, just someone could sing something different for a change, please..... Molly Malone are you doing anything tonight? )

Sorry just to clarify I said the same mentality.
Get it down, try a few passes, don't be so negative in the approach.
I'd rather we played that way and got thumped 4-0 again than sit through a boring 0-0 draw.

    2 - 0 to Ireland.

i stuck a fiver on this last night - 75-1!!
i know, i might as well have thrown it in the liffey.
live in hope! [die in despair]

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭kitakyushu

I'm not a betting man 75-1 seems very generous? esp considering we actually beat them 2-0 in a friendly just a year ago. Do they make up those odds purely on how badly a team is doing in a tournament?

I am stuck in two minds as to which game to watch. On the one hand I would like to see Ireland get a big result but on the other Croatia Spain will be a better match and I need my fix of Croat tit. It's a tough one.

Its not tough if you're Irish , we're only getting 3 games in this tournament & God knows when we'll qualify for another major one , its a no brainer for me anyway no matter how bad we are.

That would be 2016. (even Steve Staunton managed to keep us in the top 22)

Our team will be minus Given,Dunne,Duff,Keane,O'Shea,Andrews + other squad players for that campaign , i know we have a few good young players coming through but not enough that would confirm to me that qualification for Euro 2016 is a given (no pun intented).

15 years of home games is hardly bandwagon. And when were we ever really doing good?! Trap needs to go, not changing the team tonight was the final insult.

We were never really that good but you know what I mean. I know what you are saying about the team tonight and lack of changes from heir Trap but that is no excuse for deciding to jump ship and not support them anymore. I trust that means that if we get a decent team together in the future you won't know anything about it because you are not a supporter any more or will you get back up on the bandwaggon then?

We pretty much said the same about Spain. If I was Italian, having watched every goal we've conceded so far, I'd feel confident of getting more than 1.

If we get beaten by more than 2, surely there's somethIng VERY wrong in the Irish camp.

I haven't heard that chant in a long long time. I think England 1995 was probably the last time I heard it sang with gusto...for obvious reasons.

What happened to 'alive alive oh'...haven't heard that in about 20 years!

One of the more interesting coin-tosses I have seen before a game.

Buffon could have been Duffer's grandfather there!
