Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I thought you were talking about yourself there for a second considering the most recent posts.

    Wouldn't be good enough imo.

Nice of you to try and balance that by not watching Ireland in the last three games.

A few seconds before that we had the ball and Ward lost possession that led to the shot at Given.

A few seconds before that we had the ball and Whelan played a suicidal pass across midfield which lead to the whole mess.

St Ledger has been better then Dunne this tournament, and indeed probably our best defender

    Where's the humour?

Colin Doyle would fill in for Westwood if he got injured.

We have no better alternatives for St Ledger?

We have gotten to the play-offs twice with St Ledger?

My point is we have better alternative to Westwood right now - who is proven at international level.

How can you not see this?

    Deliberately would be my guess!

Clark, O Shea moving to the centre and Stephen Kelly right back is better even.
Why the fck wud we replace StL he has done a great good for us over the past 4 yrs and can still perform....... Madness

I think Ward musta kept sneaking off to his ma's in Portmarnock for iced buns when Trap was giving team talks- himself and Given have been shocking in the three games.

I wouldn't, but noodler was saying Westwood shouldn't play because he doesn't start for Sunderland.

You don't know Given is injured.

Even still, if Given is carrying a strain now, for argument's sake, how does that support the case of somebody who wants him to retire when a Sunderland's sub goalkeeper is the only option?

Admitting of course, Westwood has looked perfectly decent the two games I can remember seeing him play for Ireland.

Well I wouldn't want him to retire myself, but considering the lack of training before the tournament, surely now is the time to give Westwood some game time.

He has been good, I saw him play for Coventry too and he was very good in that match, then from highlights too. He isn't getting his game cos he was bought as a backup keeper.

This thread is a mess of hyperbole and bad cliches. Bar the mistake that led to the goal we've been decent. We had a very good spell where we were the better side for 20minutes

Match threads bring out the worst hysteria in people.

one more goal against and we've equalled the worst ever performance at a euros :(

The stupidity of the football fan never amazes me, coming into this tournament given was one of the few we'd all agree was a definate starter, now some want him retired, not dropped, not challenged more but retired and we havent a keeper who is getting a regular game ready to replace? Even if we go with Westwood and he gets injured what we do then......... Fickle fickle fickle

Colin Doyle mate, how about thinking before you post.
Doyle greater than Given, seriously u've no idea

That is not what Noodler said.

I said, we have a better alternative than Sunderland's substitute keeper right now. I have made that point about 4 or 5 times in the last hour.

Are you suggesting I would let Westwood's club status stop him starting in the next campaign if Given retired?

I see now that you are quite deliberate in misrepresenting the posts of others.

Shane Long must be considering retirement as long as Trap is manager. How Keane, Whelan and McGeady are still out there is crazy. Loyalty is commendable but come on!

Another thing I'll never understand is how these professional athletes can be tired from 3 games in 8 days is beyond me

    McGeady is doing fine imo.

He's sceptic he's lost his man on several occasions allowing him to put in dangerous crosses on top of that he can't pass the ball first time has to constantly dribble with it.

All he contributes is pointless ineffective showboating stepovers.
