Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Undoubtedly they were wetting their kacks when he was punished, knowing the publicity it'd generate.

but that was the point

Of course, but they're making it out to be some massive injustice and feigning surprise when they knew well that it would cause a stir, and probably the result they were waiting for.

By Germany you mean the German FA?

If so have the FAI ever been fined by UEFA for anything to date (in particular fan related? That'd be interesting.

    Oversinging a chorus! There's 3 verses lads! :D

    1. Will never bet with PP ever again....their cheap tabloidesque attitude to advertising really pisses me off.

    2. Delighted for Bendtner....how anyone's first thoughts are ching ching when scoring for your country is beyond me. Disgusting act.

Germany got fined, again, £20k for a neo nazi banner! They were fined £10k for fans throwing rolled up pieces of paper at Portuguese players

In fairness, they got fine a seemingly small amount for somthing they have absolutely no control over. Bendtner knew exactly what he was at.

If they had the fine for the banner at 100,000 , it wouldnt take many banners to concievably bankrupt a countries FA for something they cant stop.As it is, say that 300 peopel brought banners to each game, the German FA could be down 20m at this stage.

is this serious? your suggesting fining associations whos fans contain racist elements shouldnt be fined as it could bankrupt the association?

bankrupt them. kick them out. racism is not acceptable, in any form, by ANY fans. And until the associations take more interest in stamping out such things, they should be fined through the nose. if its 30 of 3,000 fans, a tiny 1%, the german FA should have immediatly stepped up to the plate, kicked the fans out, banned them, and praised the 99% who wouldnt stand by and allow such unworthy fans to tarnish their country.

the system in uefa, and fifa, is dreadfully flawed. either associations take responisibility for their fans, or they should be banned.

The exposure to Paddy Power is alot greater than they would have gotten if they had actually paid for advertising that nobody cares to pay attention to. Nobody pays attention to 90% of ads, unless there is controversy around it. That is why Ryanair is prepared to cop regular fines for ads tastelessly poking fun at public figures and current events- the publicity attracted is worth more than the fine.

The conspiracy theorist might speculate that rather than pay UEFA millions, PP paid a smaller, significant sum to Nicky and a few heads on the UEFA committee.

Also, nobody who owned an Apple Mac died on 9/11.... :pac:
