Character playing Gendry and general Baratheon depictions [HAVE READ the books]

Physical appearances appear to be a big deal in the book. Particularly with the Lannister blondes and the black haired blue eyed handsome baratheons. The Lannisters are done well in the show but only Renly was done well for the baratheons in my opinion.

Just got to the peaches inn bit in the third book and its hinted Gendry's half sister is flirting with him and mentions his black hair being similar to hers and King Robert's. He completely unaware of course. Similar with Robert's other bastard held by Stannis.

I think Joe Dempsie is a good actor I just don't get why they didn't do something with his hair. They obviously got him to buff up to make him have the physical appearance and strength of a baratheone so could have at least dyed it black. Someone who looks like the guy who plays jon snow would have been perfect for the role.

I've only read first two books and about halfway through the third. If people are talking about stuff later on than that could you stick in spoilers please

heres the rest of the Baratheons for comparative purposes, I thinkthey have the family features nailed fairly well, if anything the hair is darker than the rest of them, but he is younger
