Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If they do sack you, just hope they don't follow the proper industrial relations procedures (right to reply, right to representation, right to appeal and there are a couple more) so you sue them for wrongful dismissal.

Even if you did the worst thing possible (punch the boss, sleep with his wife etc). If they don't follow the correct procedures you're laughing all the way to the bank.

Tell us, Teddy, what you did. There are thousands of people in thousands of offices so unless you give out names, nobody will know.

    lol, of course it is!
You can't just do what I did.

I did something terrible today (I can't/don't want to give details) in work and I might be sacked tomorrow.
I'm actually dreading going in. Getting called into the office and being told to have a seat, you know how it goes.
I keep saying to myself, "the worst they can do is sack me", to make it seem less bad in my own head. Because logically thinking, losing a job is not the end of the world.

It's the wait that's the killer though, I just want it over and done with.
I hate this feeling. I get it the day before an interview too.

I'm sure boardsies know what I'm talking about.
Is there any good ways to lessen it at the very least?

What other situations do people get it?

make sure ya get yourself a nice pair of pjs and ugg boots to wear while your waiting in the dole queue.

He put a dark cover over the hole in his boss' seat, and when the boss sat down, a giant dildo went up his arse. . .

To know what is right, and not do it is the worst type of cowardice Teddy. Why don't you just quit now and be true to your nature?

  • Registered Users Posts: 629 ✭✭✭The Radiator

I remember the HR manager specifically saying that it could be a reason for canceling my contract.

The very worst you'd get is a verbal warning. Bed, bucko.

Did you call your boss or a co-worker a bad word? C*nt?

Diiiiid you go mad and lose the plot with a customer?

Really though, the worst thing they can do IS fire you. As soon as you walk out of the building, they just become another person you'll never speak to again, and you can move onto the next job and you'll quickly forget about them. Don't over-think it, it's just a job.

As for you boss, if you buy him a pint you will be ok.

    I didn't steal anything anyway. I wouldn't do that!

I wish I could skip tomorrow and go to Wednesday.
Tomorrow must be national "Lets all have a really sh1te meeting with the Boss" Day. I thought today was and was dreading it all last night, it got postponed till tomorrow... I'll go to yours and you go to mine, and we can both genuinely protest complete ignorance of the issues involved. I have a feeling mine may be a bigger pile of poop than yours but who knows. Ah well, there won't be a word about it in a hundred years time...:) I call today one of them "Jasus, the wheels are coming off" days.

    Sexual Harrassment?
Told the boss to go shove his knob around his waist and up his canal?
    Went in drunk?
    Photocopied your arse?
Accidentally ruined a piece of equipment?
    Got caught fapping?

    Do tell!!

Did ya ring in sick today 'cause of the match being on? (That's what my money's on) Some sickener if ya did get sacked tomorrow seeing as it was the last match Ireland would've been playing.....;)

Seriously though, don't worry about it, there's a lot of red tape employers have to go through to sack someone, a warning is easier for everyone :)

Yeah....the whole "self employed" bit on my part kinda throws a loop in that though....any chance you could undelete that conversation I had where the underboss said "Knock all that there Pottler like a good fellow"?? Jasus, maybe Teddy is the Foreman?:-)

It is probably nothing. It is a wind up to see how many falls for Teddy's joke?
