Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi all,

    I have a 2005 corolla a saloon new model.

Radio seems to be giving some trouble, can be driving along one min and all is fine and the next it cuts out, no sound whatsoever, even though the dial is still lit and volume is showing its up etc

where do i start searching for the loose connection, it appears to be more of the connection to the speakers rather than the power to the radio as I say the dial remains lit at all times

can cover 50miles without a problem and the next min its gone

when it goes you change stations and you get sound for 1second and then silence, turn it off and the same story, turn it off for a while and it seems to be fine

    any ideas?

Sounds like a loose connector for the speakers. Take out the radio and make sure all connections are firmly in place would be the place I would start. The speakers are on their own connector so that could just have come loose. Judging by all the speakers turning off, I would assume it is something along those lines.

See if it happens when playing a cd, if it doesn't this rules out the speakers. My guess is you have the auto tune correction turned on and because Ireland doesn't support this the radio looses signal, think it will appear as TS or TP on your display if it's on.

CD gives the same symptoms, must have cut out 20times in first 5miles today, so switched off CD player left it for a few mins, then turned it back on and it didn't cut out for the next 95miles
