Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anchorman quotes. They weren't funny in context so why do you think they would be out of context?

why the Simpsons are so popular, always baffled me

Gigs, discos and concerts. I suppose live music isn't my thing. The odd festival wasn't too bad when I was in my teens and early twenties but they were more about the crack and the booze and the women.

The big bang theory - who in the hell finds that drivel funny?

It always gives me pause for thought when the teenager
asks me for €20, same day every month, for her 'free' texts:confused::confused::confused:

You must top up by 20eur a month to get free texts to another number on the same network.

What do you mean forget? I don't get why it should be down...

There's actualy a biological difference. I think it's something to do with whether there was a partition between them in the womb or not... Also they'd might share a lot more features apart from the sex diferences than non-identical twins.

Boy-girl twins can't be identical. Identical twins come from the same egg splitting. Non-identical twins come from 2 different eggs.

Celebrity culture. Nobodies are more famous than those with actual talent.

Homeopathy - People are skeptical towards actual medicine but buy truckloads of this watered crap. Water "retaining" memory for fùck sake.....

Family Guy - It well-outlived it's stay. Throw in a few jokes about a celebrity / actor everyone forgot about, an obscure sex joke, a by-the-numbers stoner joke, a terrible musical number, another 80's / Youtube viral video reference where it's just a shot by shot remake (that's apparently funny) and you have yourself an episode........or a season depending on how lazy you are.

Apple products - I do ask customers who come into me why they're looking to buy an Apple product. More often than not it's for the sake of looking cool rather than using it for it's actual purpose.

People who complain about how modern life is like 1984 and that Big Brother is watching us, Google are evil, etc...............................yet post all this up on their Twitter or Facebook page along with all the other vomit they put up.

Tight jeans / Bright pink shirts or jumpers - Rotten.

SALE!! - Stick this on anything and it's kryptonite to a woman :pac:

Oh, and a Jaffa Cake is a cake. They won their case to say this on the fact that the Jaffa Cake go hard when gone off while a biscuit goes soft :)

But you don't find jaffa cakes with the cakes, you find them in the biscuit aisle

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,881 ✭✭✭JohnMarston

    So many things, for example:

The popularity of the show Mad Men. I 've suffered through almost three seasons of this now with the hope it gets better. The only mad thing about it how these men dont have serious health problems from chain smoking and drinking. Overrated imo.

The seemingly irrational disdain for people who play video games from people over 40

Cake cuz it goes hard when it becomes stale unlike biscuits go soft when they become stale...

Because the classic Simpsons episodes are possibly the best comedy ever made.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,171 ✭✭✭af_thefragile

How people can go out parting every 2nd day and yet show up at the morning 8am lecture in college and also do pretty well in exams.

Also don't get why people here can't seem to have any fun without alcohol. Infact for me once people get drunk, the party is not fun anymore as everyone is too drunk to have any proper conversations while for the rest the fun seems to begin when they start getting drunk and falling and stumbling over and making out with random people...

Never really found simpsons hilarious tbf. When i was a kid i used to enjoy watching cartoon network cartoons, simpsons never really appealed greatly to me. It has some good episodes but nothing i'ld call amazing.

    1. You can add syrupy juice drinks to it
    2. Because they taste nice
    3. It's an award ceremony
    4. Because we can
    5. I love Charlie Chaplin, I admit
    6. It's a cultural thing

I don't get why pharmacists keep condoms, pregnancy tests and baby bottles all in the same area. Not exactly reassuring to the customer.
"You're buying these condoms? Then you may as well buy these other products while you're here."

I also don't get how people hear each other in nightclubs, loud pubs, etc. I rarely make out what's being said. It seems alcohol gives people superhearing and/or the ability to lip read.

Moroccan tea is one of the nicest thing i've ever drank! I don't like coffe but a nice tea can be refreshing. I don't like milk in tea though.

Don't know why you're quoting me, i don't find them disgusting.
But i don't like them beside my toothpaste especially when an oulone looks at you strange when you are quite clearly looking at the toothpaste and not the tampons.

They're useful for cleaning corners of cookers after spillage, oil out of motorbike oil sumps and other hard to reach places apparently...
