Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Trust me Dunphy, the last thing in the World we think is that we're the best in the World. We're the ones who have to watch these **** play.

Dunphy will never miss an opportunity to win some cheap points from the home crowd when talking about England.

Sheva warming up. Might mean nothing of course.

When did they last play one? I can't remember any and I'm thinkin all the way back to Italia 90

    EDIT- just remembered 04

And 92 we lost to Sweden. I don't believe we ever have won against a host nation, no.

Ukraine need to score early here really. See them running out of steam.

    80, 82, 90, 92, 04 are the ones I can think of.

? Tonight's game? Other than a nice FK into the box hasn't been involved, himself and Parker are being over ran in the middle
He's launched a few cross field/down the middle balls to play England into threatening positions. His passing has been excellent, I can only recall him playing one poor pass, and that was debatable. It's not his fault his team mates are kicking it away.

But yea, let's not let a good performance by Gerrard get in the way of some good old fashioned, anti-English bigotry.
How the fck is my post anti-English bigotry? Where you getting that from, I asked you a question and added my opinion, you said what he was doing was world class, there was nothing from the first half that reflects that, your post even says it he launched a few balls?

Himself and Parker are been over run I didn't say even say he wasn't playing well!

    U a pool man?

Scrappy with nothing happening really, Ukraine the better side and yarmalenko the best on the pitch. Neither have threatened and hasent been a defensive masterclass either.

I agree the defending has been woeful, though that can add to the entertainment a bit. And Ukraine haven't had much of an end product either, but I love watching a team passing as well as that. Especially when they seem to be playing above themselves.

Yeah, my fellow Liverpool fans getting a tad defensive.

    Gerrard!

    Great ball (after his foul!).

    EDIT: Nah, not a foul.

    ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONEY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,656 ✭✭✭cgpg5

That's that I'd say. England only need 2 chances really and they score. Ukraine have been attacking all game.

Good play from Gerrard but to be fair it took 3 deflections before it got to Rooney. A large enough slice of luck for them.

How many managers has Gerrard worked under now and all of them keep letting him take corners. It's baffling.

Pyatov would be running Given close for worst playing goalie in the tournament.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

Ah keeper! Come on Ukraine, ye can do it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,688 ✭✭✭Nailz

A mixture of a jammy deflection on the cross and poor defending/goalkeeping — surprising as the goalie has been playing quite will this tournament.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

The other game is 0-0 and about 1 minute behind.

    Gerrard with three assists.

Just like his other two assists for the tournament and just like that glorious ball he played through to put Rooney one on one with the Ukranian 'keeper.

    "He's a spoofer, Bill" :pac:

Brilliant work again by Gerrard, Rooney should have laid the ball off first time but he also should have got a peno.

Third game in a row they've been winning. I wouldn't hold too much hope of it staying that way.
