Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yet no one tired of a couple of pages of "Ukraine robbed", "it was over the line" , "shut up about the Lampard goal now".

Rooney so sluggish on the ball. England would have had a few but for him.

I didnt say anyone was right but they both fcuked up in the end, the 5th offical should call it as he sees it, there was no whistle blown so he should have called it a goal be it right or wrong.

Yes, but glad he didn't call it as a goal.

England v Italy is gonna be a good game. :)

Are you sayign he deliberately cheated?

WTF? Where did I say that? I'm taking generally here, not specifically about this game. If there's no whistle for an offside, then that's the linesmans fcuk up, the 5th offical should still be watching the line, he's not there to police the offside rule.

They would have one less without him.

You said he should call it as he sees it. That implies he knew it was over the line but chose to say nothing.

He was watching the line btw.

I think most people can agree it shouldnt have been a goal but that doesn stop the ineptness of the officals behind the goal.

What most people are saying is this "experiment" has been a massive failure andd noone knows why they are there, to deem balls over the line, they missed it, to help with decisions, they missed Keanes penalty, the pull on Bendter etc

    They make no sense

I reckon Vince McMahon is communicating with them backstage telling them not to give the call. It's like the Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart screwjob all over again :pac:.

A full back coming on? That'll confuse Ger - a full back playing on the flank :p

Poor choice of words on my part there admittedly. If he was watching that line then he should get himself checked out because something went wrong there.

Ball looked to have been going in regardless of Rooney's touch.

Would everyone be so vocal if it was given even though the offside was missed?

2 officials failed to do their job and it evened out. Good result for everyone.

There is a big difference in not spotting an offside and not spotting a goal! I'm not just talking about tonight. Football is the biggest sport in the world, why wont it embrace technology? Ridiculous situation.

and thats why you want John Terry in your team.

    ??????

    It was a goal.
Had Terry not got it, it wud have counted

They didnt get an undesevered goal.

Maybe not happy for everyone, but justice done.

When it evens out and no one gains.

If just one had made a mistake, someone would have gained unfairly.

Ukraine throwing it away with all these long balls and stupid long shots. Just start stringing a few passes together and see what you can build from there lads.

That said justice was done with offside.

My point was on Terry though.

In the context of the game that is true and I'm glad it went that way but in a general context the incident proves the 5th official doesn't solve the problem.

Thats what people are getting at.

England always seem terrified of making a mistake in their own half, on several occasions they could have brought down a ball in the air while under little pressure, but instead they head it aimlessly away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,217 ✭✭✭Justin10

I was wondering why Danny sprinted over to the other side of the pitch.

Agreed but by not giving up and doing what he did stopped it hitting the net and being Given.

Shevchenkos too old to be tackling youngfellas. He had to make sure and kick him with both legs. :)

Subliminally, at least one Englishman living in Ireland knows that Dunphy is an anti-English bigot.

Dunphy may be a lot of things but an anti-english bigot? No way. He might slag the football team, but no way is he a bigot. In his books, it definitely shows, he loved living in england, and the people.

I see what your saying, but you could say same for Roy Carroll howler years back against Spurs when he got back to clear it from the net.

Both at fault for the goals.

Canning - " The stewards have gone right around the edge of the ground, as we head towards the end of the game".

    No shít Ger.
