Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Poor Ger must be getting confused with all this injury time.

Still no word on how the minor match finished up either.

Yeah, I haven't heard a single burst of The Fields of Athenry from them!

I see what your saying, but you could say same for Roy Carroll howler years back against Spurs when he got back to clear it from the net.

Both at fault for the goals.

Ah but had he been onside would Terry have got caught :-)

    Should have released Walcott...

How England are getting a result here is unbelievable. Ukraine have been completely all over them!

They have more matches to spread their cheering over.:)

I was talking about Ukraine! We'll find out some if the England fans still sing when 2 down to Italy :)

7 points is good return for Roy.

Been good group stage campaign for England.

A fairly useless fact in fairness.

Its standard procedure at every game.

All they've done is take long shots though. Makes the stats look good though.

Sickened over that goal that wasn't given :(
Had Rooney to score first and the game to finish a draw at 34/1

Agreed but by not giving up and doing what he did stopped it hitting the net and being Given.

I dislike JT way too much to promote him any further in positive manner. I agree with u :)

    Simple really, disciplined defence*

*Trap needs to take some notes from Roy! ;)

    Anyway that's that 1-0 FT

What the **** is with the coverage on RTE???

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

England could go far in this tournament without doing much, Italy aren't the best team in the world and they somehow win there they are suddenly in a semi.

    Nope.

Think this really has been the poorest group, England and France don't look great at all.

No problem. I see what yourself and others were trying to say be fair.

Just we looked at it little different.:)

I'd put it down more to bad finishing from the Ukraine.

Spain to boss France and win.

England - Italy will be close but if England don't up their game, Italy will take them.

What was the point of cutting off end of England match whilst France were losing 2-0 (but had not told us about 2nd goal).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭kitakyushu

Bit of luck but you'd have to say on the whole England well deserving of the group. England v Italy should be a battle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,992 ✭✭✭Shane732

Well that was just a comedy of errors from everyone involved!

Why the hell did RTE just decide to switch over with 2 minutes left?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭DubDani

Potential SF of Germany-England. That would be great.

The other one will IMO be Portugal vs. Spain.

    Those two could be fun.

    What happened?

They switched to the Sweden game for no apparent reason...

Thought Gerrard was world class for England and a step above his team mates. Welbeck had a few decent touches and flicks I though. Young started poorly, but came into the game a bit better. Parker worked his socks off and did decently, even though he wasn't as good on the ball. Cole was quality at left back once again.

The only notes that need to be taken are notes on how to get lucky in the draw. Both England and France are weaker teams than Croatia and Italy. We also had Spain in our group. People talk about traps system and traps selection and they would be mostly right.....but make no mistake if we had englands group we would have qualified too.

England are poor. Ukraine outplayed them and if they had a better keeper they would have won that match. Desperation for the last 10 mins cost them but they were better overall.

I can only hope that the next game will see Walcott start, as James Milner is the definition of a void.

Yeah looks a real possibility now, depends on which Italy turns up but England should be confident.

    What happened?

Just switched over to the last 4-5 minutes of the France match for no particular reason.

Didn't even catch the 2nd Swedish goal!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,952 ✭✭✭Lando Griffin

Well done RTE just feckin off for the last minutes of the England match. Wasters.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭keith16

Shevchenko telling JT to stay away from his missus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Gerrard was England's best player by a mile.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,891 ✭✭✭✭klose

Young and milner need to go to the bench and welbeck was far from impressive. Fancy Italy though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,555 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Greece and Czech Republic were worse.

Would actually disagree with that. Russia looked good and it was a great achievement by Greece to beat them.

England & France will most likely go out in next round.
