I wanted to check that out, but I can't see any complaints here?

    http://www.facebook.com/beefitgyms

Am I looking at the right place?

They probably deleted any negative comments.

Thats certainly the case, there was people on their asking for caps on membership and everything..

I am sure that they will deal with it correctly, but they were actively asking for the JJB members to come check it out and had a halloween deal that they were extending to them (or anyone I would imagine)

They did say they will look after their loyal members in that regard so I am sure that they have something in the pipe line.

I dread busy gyms though, nothing worse than loosing momentum waiting for a bench or whatever.

Theres still a comment on that FB page somewhere. I was in there Thursday and Friday and it didnt seem much different. Few new faces alright

They have advised there is a cap which will apply but i suppose it will remain to be seen if thats an acceptable cap to everyday users

JJB Limerick supposed to be taken over by Planet Health Club of Cork

    Re-opening soon apparently.

    Brilliant news, Beefit totally overcrowded.

Fresh blood will do the JJB site the world of good. Hopefully they pump a few quid in as it still has the potential to be a brilliant gym

    Absolutely...

Should be reopening week after next so I heard, rebranding and upgrading will take place later.

For a city with the population of Limerick, we are reallu badly served.

Apart from JJB and Beefit and UL you are relying on Leisure Centers attached to Hotels...

Eastway Fitness Club is the new spot in eastway. It will be open hopefully by next week if not this week, being running by Blue Shinners and Jason Kenny.

Was in last week to check it out and it's going to be a very interesting set up!

Those the guys always in the paper for sport things?be more of a bodybuilders place ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,279 ✭✭✭ronanc15

    @bigpink could be them alright.

I think it will be more than just a bodybuilding gym. You would get a small core of members from that kind of market but not enough to make a tidy profit IMO. The money is in all the classes I would imagine.

There will be loads of different classes including martial arts, basically whatever there is demand for.

Loads of boxing equipment in there including a full size boxing ring.

And most interestingly an extensive Crossfit style Military fit section.

Of course there is a significant free weights area too :)

There will be a well known physio based there and full nutritionist services also.

    That's very expensive.

Hold tough until the new "JJB's" opens they'll surely have some good introductory offers, or else there is Beefit, they are only €60 for 3 months. I've been to their gym in the Delta center and it's nice.
