    Hi, I was hoping someone could help me. I was eating a lovely cake recently and it was covered in white (cream) I know it wasn't real cream but I'm pretty sure it wasn't buttercream. It had almost for want of a better word, marshmallowy taste I think. It was lighter than butter cream.

    Is that fondant?? I would love a recipe to make similar if anyone knows one .

    Most likely it was Italian meringue icing.
