Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have no savings either and put nothing by each month. I read this thread several days ago and was too ashamed to tell the truth.

I spent 39 quid this weekend. I only now realise what a an absolute moron I have been. Had a great weekend too. :)

Fair play to you, hopefully you can keep it up.

(Aside) C'mere, you wouldn't have the lend of fifty quid, would ya?

    OP

Three things you need to be doing in this order and priority....

    1. pay off your debt
    2. take care of your retirement
    3. save for a rainy day

after that you can spend the rest on as much fun as you want.

keeping in mind 1 and 2 might never happen, but you can be sure someone will spend it.

I've never saved a penny in my life, for anything. I'm in my late twenties and make over 50k per year and still am not able to save. Is this ridiculous? I'm sure it is. What do people normally save per month? I came from the Celtic tiger era of if you wanted something you borrowed for it. I do have some debts...maybe 10k but surely I should be able to save money. I spend way too much on booze and going out

You should really learn to save even if its €@60 per week or so , I started to save from an early age and by God am I glad I did it so young , I have lost 2 jobs in the last few years and used my savings to pay mortgage etc €188 on the dole is impossible to live on .
I was never encouraged to save by my parents but it is something I have always done (put something small away every week and not touch it)
Starting a new job in a few weeks time and can start saving again .
Hope you can get into the habit of saving soon and in a few years you will be glad you started saving . (it is never too late to save and you can never have enough saved) best of luck with it

:rolleyes:From looking at the OPs other threads the guy is an obvious troll. Probably doesn't have two pennies to rub together either but just trying to get a rise out of people by insisting on his €500 euro weekends every week. Welcome to the internet....where every small man can anonymously proclaim himself a social giant.
