I have tried to get my money returned but so far no good.
Meteor claim that I opted for a bundle where I pay 10 euro per month for internet. My phone has no internet option and I never signed such contract.
Meteor now refuses to pay it back and it has been going on since september.
I could buy me a better phone for that kind of money.
Meteor first told me it was part of the pay as you go like standard and everyone would be paying that.
Then they told me there are no contracts needed so no consent for to take out the money.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Thinking of going to the small claims court.

I had this bundle that they automatically add to your account without your knowledge. So I had it stopped.

Welcome to our live chat service. A Meteor agent will help you shortly
You are now connected with Danny
Danny: Welcome to the meteor-service webchat, once again my name is Danny how can I help you today?
customer:i have contacted meteor (read phoned at 1905) to solve a problem with 10 euro being deducted evey month
    customer:and they stopped it
customer:and the last 10 euro was put back
    customer:but not the rest
customer:so i wrote an email to you but heard nothing since
customer:there is nothing that indicates 10 euro is getting deducted when i look online in the usage
    customer:that should be changed
customer:can you put the rest of the money back on
Danny: The add on for internet that charges €9.99 per month has been removed from your account and €10 credit has been put back on. I cannot issue any more credit as it was an add on bundle.
customer:i never signed up for an add on bundel
customer:my phone was stolen some time ago and i had a new simcard issued with same number
customer:since then i loose money every month
customer:can i speak to your supervisor
Danny: It was added on the 6th of September 2011. It was removed on the 18/6/12. This is not a supervisor issue.
customer:i do not have a bundle i have only pay as you go
customer:and this is a supervisor issue
customer:i should not have to pay 10 euro per month for pay as you go
Danny: It was a bundle as part of your pay as you go account, I have the same system and information as the supervisor. The information I am giving you is correct, therefore this is not a supervisor issue.
customer:then it is a small claims court issue
customeray as you go should cost nothing
Danny: All the charges for pay as you go are listed on the website.
customer:there should not be any charge for pay as you go
Danny: Ok I understand, but there is.
customer:i bet i can find more people who have this and we will go to court together it will cost you lots more than reimgboursing or giving more on the account
customeray as you go has always been free.
customer:do note this is on the record
Danny: I will of course, the terms and conditions are on the website so will see that pay as you go is not free.
    customer:it has always been free
    Danny: Ok.
customer:so put the money back on
Danny: No, I cannot put the money back on as the charge for the bundle you had was €9.99 per month. It has been removed now so the charges won't come anymore unless you opt in to that bundle again.
    customer:what bundle
customer:i have pay as you go
customer:and you stated that pay as you go costs 10 euro
customer:so you are trying to get from under it
    customerbviously by giving me stories
    Danny: The €9.99 1GB bundle.
customer:i have no internet on my phone and do not need 1 gb and would never pay for something that i do not have nor need
Danny: The information I have given you is correct, it is all on your account and website. The bundle is now gone from your phone. If you are unhappy about the information I have given you then you can email us at info@meteor.ie
Danny: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
customer:I have emailed you and got no answer
customer:yes you can help by putting back the amount on my account that you stole from it without my knowledge
Danny: You can also call us on 1905. I have already advised that I cannot refund the credit. There is nothing further I can do to assist you with that query.

Danny: Thanks for chatting with me today.

Naturally I phoned a friend
and he just found out he has the same problem.
He did not even notice that it was going on all these months.
He did complain about the phone needing more money all the time.
If you have meteor you should check out if you have 9.99 euro deducted as well (666 upside down) It does not show up anywhere, not on your bill, not in your phone. The only way to find out is call em and ask.

Can you prove from your phone records that you've never used any of this add on?

Does the €10 go unused every month.

My phone cannot even do anything like going online. Yes they can see that the usage is zero. But they just refuse to pay back.

Is it a BlackBerry you have? If so, yes the bundle comes with it and your opted in for blackberry services automatically,.otherwise the blackberry doesn't function for what its designed for.

Noo it is the cheapest crappy standard phone from the dinosaur age and it has not got any thing. Not even berries. It has got nice beads on it but no berries. It can ring and it can receive phonecalls so it is perfect for my needs.

not true you have to opt-in via text with Meteor anyway

I have a large group of friends all on Meteor and this has happened to a few of them

In each case they went complaining to the local store and in each case they had signed up to the €9.99 1gb bundle which you get the 1st month free but in subsequent months the €9.99 charge stood and the bundle is active on your account.

Also Meteor were able to see from there account that they did opt-in via text so no refunds were due in any of there cases

should claim because it is misleading. I do not recall opting in for something that i should pay for. Also they never warned by stating something like we are going to deduct money from your account but you can stop this by doing such and such. And on top of that they do not mention having deducted the money anywhere. The small claims court can deal with this and it would not cost much and if everyone goes in one big group then it can be dealt with in one go and the costs will be minimal. Wanna get back at a big moneygrabbing corporation for a change?

Unfortunately if they show that you did opt in to the bundle the message received to confirm it would have a line at the end referring you to their website for full terms and conditions

As I said I know quite a few people who signed up to the 1st month free bundle and thinking that was it but if they had of read the t&c's they would of realised they were signed up to a monthly subscription

If that is the case with your issue I am afraid Meteor have done nothing wrong or sneaky

Why would a member of staff sign someone up for a free month which subscribes them to a service they can't use with their handset? Meteor staff are a real disaster area when it comes to stuff like this, would there have been any financial incentive for the staff member doing this?

I don't think I said a staff member signed anyone up to anything could you point me to where I did please

I said if you opted in to the bundle which offers the 1st month free as many I know did then Meteor are not at fault if the op failed to read the t & c's

or is it possible a friend may have done this from your phone op?

You opt in from your phone or online just like adding any bundle from most if not all networks

Friend of mine just got on to meteor.
    They took his last penny.
He had opted out and they still managed to take it.
The meteor agent called Niall told him that he had used it.
He told Niall that was impossible as he was not even in the country.
Niall cannot tell how long it was used and what sites have been used.
Only that according to the logs it has been used.
So Niall refused to pay back.
    Niall is also rude!
