Yep, 560 in NUIG, but I was worried it could go up with the extra maths points to 585. Also I applied for the Naughton Scholarship and it seems they go by grades mostly, and then they look at your application form. It would be amazing if I received it but I doubt it. :/

I asked someone at the open day and she said it's not going up, no need to worry!

Just singling these 3 out as i've talked to Wes and Patchy about Geography before, but do you guys think our Geography (in general) will be marked easily if everyone found it difficult? Like I remember Wes and Patchy got v.high grades in the mock and I myself got on quite well (B1), surely everyone found it difficult if people who got very high grades earlier in the year were disappointed with it? It's the one subject that's gonna stop me getting a Scholarship for College as all my other subjects went to plan and it's extremely frustrating!

I don't see how they'd change the marking scheme to make it easier though? Although surely the grades will go down this year, and to think a 3% A rate was bad already  But anyway, I'd really rather not talk about that subject.. anytime I hear the word "Geography" I feel sick :L

    Pessimistic
    English: C1
    Irish: D2
    Maths (OL): C3
    French: D1
    Biology: B1
    Business: D2
    Economics: D2
    History: C1

That's... 375, I'd have enough for Galway but I wouldn't get Aberdeen, which I really want.

    Optimistic:
    English: B1
    Irish: C1
    Maths(OL): B1
    French: B3
    Biology: A1
    Business: C1
    Economics: B2

    That's 490 (OMG) and I'd get Aberdeen.

    (all honours)
    Biology B2
    French B3
    Irish C2
    Maths D1
    Geography B2
    Ag Science B3

thats 455, enough for my 2nd choice which i'd be delighted with! :)

    VERY Optimistic

    Biology A2
    French B1
    Irish B2
    Maths C2
    Geography B1
    Ag science A2

thats 520 lol, that would be enough for my first choice (500 points), and would be amazing, but i'd be really lucky :L

So i predict somewhere between 455 and 520 hopefully!

    I'd say

    Construction A1
    Physics B1
    Maths B1
    Accounting B2
    French C3
    English C3

That's 470 without the maths bonus so 495 which would be unbelievably sound seeing as I got 415 in the mocks.

So, hopefully I'll land between 530 (555 with maths) and 575 (600 with maths). NEED 550 or over so fingers crossed!

    German:A1
    Accounting:A2

But that's probably too optimistic. I'd just love 560. If I get less that 540 I'll be disappointed.

    Maybe..

    English – H – C1
    Irish – H – C3
    Geography – H – D2
    Home Economics – H – D1
    Music –O – B1
    Link Modules – C - Merit

    = 330 CAO points
I'd be happy with that. Would love a distinction in Link Modules though so maybe 350 points.. we'll see

I seem like such an under achiever after reading the other posts in this thread haha ah well :pac:

I seriously couldn't put down predictions...but I'm lookin for around 500 but as long as I get primary teaching (460-480) I'll be delighted. Got 390 in pres but failed two subjects. Seriously I'll only jinx myself if I put down predictions. All I'm gonna say is, attempt marks ftw in Higher maths. Low Partial Credit you beauty :L

    I agree!

All my mates are like, 'I never want to get my results!'; but honestly, I can't wait to just get them over with :DD

If I start seeing Cs then I know I wont be getting my first choice.
At this stage I think I'd be reasonably happy to get enough points for the lowest points course on my CAO (Arts in NUIG).
