I was serious, but I wouldn't let my dogs into the off leash park for the simple reason I know the wardens are strict to a certain degree over there.

I have met them twice before when I only had one dog and I had him off leash, they didn't get annoyed or anything they just asked to put him back in the lead, I had no issue at all and did so. I was the only person around and I was right at the far side near the playground, no kids around no dogs around that's the only time I'd let my dogs off tr leash.

I was told some time later by a guy with a retriever that the warden got snotty with him about his dog being off leash, that was the last day I went to the park!! Must be easily 6 months now!!!

It's a great park for dog walking, but there are far too many unsocialised(or angry whichever you'd prefer) dogs who love a nip, I for one don't want my dog bitten by someone else's dog so I don't go there! I am just interested and slightly nosy so I want to see the dog park ;)

Are you the guy who trains the RB to sit etc in the park by Grange Manor?
Lovely dogs if so, well trained and loved and I aint nervous running by them because of that, its the smaller ones out of control i watch for!!

Nope that's not me that's the other guy! I have only seen his 2nd dog once. I would have mainly been over the other side where all the pitches are, you probably may have only seen me with one of my dogs there as I kind of stopped going to that park once I got my 2nd dog! I've got a few pictures up in an album on my page of the both of them you may recognise them.

I wouldn't even have a problem with any dog that might need to be on a leash and in the dog park, it could be an idea to walk them at the outside edge as it still gives them the opportunity to meet other dogs, they can have a good smell of each other through the fence, its not the same but its something.
I have come across people that were unwilling to put their dogs on a leash when they were not under control, not there but elsewhere and a previous poster reminded me of that couldn't care less of anyone else attitude.

Hi I have a 5yr old female lab who is fab with people, kids and cats but a little fussy wen it comes to dogs, In fairness we didnt socialise her very well with dogs as a pup as we didnt really have anywhere or anydogs to do so at the time. My problem is shes extremely playful with cats and id live for.her to be able to go In and play in dog run and make some doggy friends but because shes nervous of bouncy hyper type dogs she has nipped a few in the past much to my embarrassment so im afraid to bring her in incase she.causes uproar!!! Would anyone with a big calm dog who walks in griffeen park be interested in helping me desensitise her to the dog park. Ps she is very well behaved otherwise and has been to a few different behavior classss, nome of whuch helped with her dog fear though! I can muzzle her for interactions if you are confident enough ur.dog wont retaliate to any growls etc. someone plz help. Thanks..

I live right next to the park and have a male collie x greyhound cross. He is very calm when he needs to be and I'm a dog walker, so he is used to being with all types of dogs. We're willing to help you racmacka :)
