Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah we all know what he meant, it was just too much fun winding him up...

    I've learned my lesson. If I could re-write, I'd say, "U Genius! y??"

    Haha, actual idiots.

I'll spell it out so: things that aren't really genius, but make you feel really clever when you do them anyway.

Note to self: never presume intelligence when posting in AH again...

You may want to punctuate that post before you question others' intelligence, pal.

    Hey, OP

Inspired by watching Ace Ventura when I was younger I taught myself to be able to raise each of my eyebrows individually. I am therefore a genius contortionist.

I have add, therefore I lose everything, forget where I've put things all the time.
So I have a very strict "a place for everything, and everything in it's place" policy that I have trained myself into abiding.
Everyone thinks I'm anal, but it's actually my geniusness in all it's glory.

    Mere mortal: lost, confused, angry.

You, a genius: organised, efficient, calm.

You win! Unless Mere Mortal decides to start stealing or hiding stuff on you. Then they win.

    Finally someone gets it!

I have a habit of pushing my glasses up on my head, and patting my head to check if they're there when I'm looking for them.

Now instead of groping my head if I'm in a meeting (looks pretty stupid if they aren't there), I just pretend I'm brushing a hair behind my ear and surreptitiously check.

So I look slightly less stupid.

Relax lads, it's AH. I'm not seriously claiming to have re-invented the wheel here. Ya might wanna read into tone before you get smart yourselves ;).

It's very simple. Mere mortal thinks:

"Oh wait, I've lost my phone! No! Noooo!"

And search frantically before saying, "Wait, it's in my hand! How silly!"

I, a genius, think: "Wait, I've lost my phone! Wait, is it in my hand? Yes, yes it is." Therefore bypassing the panic stage.

    a checklist

    with one item

    Genius!

Ha. That reminds me, if I ever need to check my fly in public I'll jolt and pretend to look at something real interesting in the distance, so that anyone who might look my way will be distracted should it be left open.

I kept my crayon inside of the lines the other day.
    I'd say I'm a fricken genius alright.

I get it OP, even if no one else does.

It's like when you walk into a room and suddenly you can't see. While, in the past, I might have panicked that I had gone blind, I discovered one day that I could flick this switch on the wall and turn the light on. Every time so far the light has just been off.

    I know. Pretty clever.

Sigh, really? We're doing, "I know you are but what am I?" now, are we?

This forum does not handle the use of irony well at all, at all.

"Did he just say he was a genius? The arrogant little...let's get him!"
"No wait, I don't think he meant to. We might have missed the point!"
"Yeah...well, I kinda want to get someone for something now, so can we not just get him anyway?"

Clearly and simply explaining a complex grammar point off the top of my head makes me genuinely feel like a genius, and slightly aroused.

Doesn't handle lighthearted humour as well as it used to either :(

Well I laughed more than a few times. Come on now, it doesn't need to be innuendo and puns every thread..

Another one: if you think a girl is giving you the eye, yawn and see if she yawns too. I felt like I'd beaten the system when I thought of that one.
