Matches in the knock out stages are never going to be as good as group games. Much more at stake, most teams try to avoid getting beaten in favour of going for the win.

What a player ronaldo is, always catches a bit of flak when he doesn't score while messi pretty much gets away it. Should be on a hat trick again.

Big difference in doing it in frendilys and on a competitive international stage, people got a bit carried away with messi display again brazil IMO.

Who would people think was MoM tonight. I can see Ronaldo getting all the plaudits but for me Mereiles was the best player on the park. Felt he controlled the game and he delivered some sweet balls too. Cech was unreal tonight and its awful to see a performance like that on a losing side.
