Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very brave decision. I think it's the correct one though. Lot more pace to that line up which they're going to need vs that Greek defence.

    Jonathan Wilson speaking a lot of sense on twitter too;

Some saying German changes indicative of arrogance. I'd say just the opposite - respecting the differing challenge Greece pose.

Greece will sit deep, so aerial threat of Klose will draw them out a little (don't let him attack cross from 15 yards)...

.Schurrle and Reus more technical players than Muller and Podolski - can create in tighter spaces; don't need room ahead of them

Awesome. I'm definitely extending my break a bit with that German front 4. Can't wait to see Reus and Schurrle. Would have liked to see Gomez start instead of Klose though.

Can't wait for this. These Germans are gonna win it.

Has Gotze played in the Euros yet?

Sounds familiar. Is that some player I used to know?

    He's not fit enough.

Nope. He is only coming back from injury to be fair though.

Really hope Reus has a good game, cannot wait to see him, Klose, Ozil and Schurrle combine.

    Changes are 100% correct too.

Yup sent a text to a mate beforehand that they wouldn't have a clue about who Schrrule and Reus were. :p

I am going for a Greece win here, I really think they can upset the odds.

Let's hope it's a better game than last nights.

Ah but sure, he's a La Liga/Spanish expert at least.

It's Germany and Greece's fault for not having more players in La Liga / Prem tbh.

I assume mispronouncing every name, as well as a lot of ''eh'' as they think what to say when they are asked about players they have never seen :P.

I honestly think there are a lot of people posting on here that would be much better in the studio then them in every aspect of TV punditry.

    Is Liam Brady drunk?

It was all going so well on ITV, they quoted Loew saying the Greeks were a 'brick wall' and I expected them to mention how Reus et all are more technical. But no, they just say, because Greece is a 'brick wall' it makes no sense out to leave out the top 3 strikers.

Adrian Chiles then suggested Loew was being arrogant.

Thank god for Roy Keane setting him straight.

The RTE boys are in great form tonight! :D

O'Herlihy: You're talking politically now aren't you Eamonn (referring to his miniature Greek flag waving analysis)
Dunphy: I'm talking as a human being Bill!!
Brady: Didi is sitting right here Eamonn!
    Hamman: "..."
Dunphy: Ah don't worry Didi, we'll go out for a jar later

    :):):):)

He basically dismissed Chiles' idea that it was arrogance and that Loew had made the decision based on the fact that he'd seen the players more than we have.

I sense hubris here, Greece to nearly shock ze Germans.

    I might just mute RTE.

Dunphy is a clown and should be sacked for that ridiculous comment.

    2-0 Germany. 0-0 at ht

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭kitakyushu

C'mon Klose! Forget about scoring. Track back and prove to Dunphy that you've still got it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,255 ✭✭✭Renn

Love how he forgot what club Klose played for.

    Germany could be ahead already!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭kitakyushu

If Greece can get the first 6mins of ****ty play outta the way then they might have a chance :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

This defence is nowhere near the 04 one, that's for sure. They were open in the first three games and have decided to continue that trend :(

    Another bad call.

Definite hiding for Greece on the cards here I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,191 ✭✭✭BKC

Greece keeper is poor. Got away with that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Samaras played mostly out wide left for Celtic and had some great games despite the usual inconsistency problems like he does for Greece but somehow he's had a bad season for Celtic and a big player for Greece!
