Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

-2.5 goals should be in now.

Like I said, that clown Boateng could cost Germany the Euro's.

Also, only time during the game he referred to anything Alkin had to say as "interesting". Fair, maybe one time too many.

Thankfully a much better Game then the one last night.

Germans showed class when they needed to, and I think they might have what it takes to win the tournament.

But it also shows that their back can be exposed at times, which a more ruthless team might take advantage of.

It's easy to sing when losing 2-4, but could they do it at 0-4?

Moreso could they do it consistently? Thanks to our WC qual group we'll be able to prove that we can.

Bad set-up that Germany get 6 days and their opponent only get 4.

Once they both get 72 hours there will be very little difference. 95% of recovery happens in the 48 hours after exercise

The emphasis on 'money', and the nation with the money won out against the broke sods. I 'got it'.

Group A plays on Days 1,5,9.
Group D plays on Days 4,8,12.
So theres a 3 day gap between when teams have finished the groups.

By the time these groups are scheduled to meet (e.g., semi final stage) that 3 day gap has to have been reduced to zero. So someone has to get an ever so slightly less favourable rest period, but not a huge deal imo.

The youth structure in Ireland is an absolute sham. If we sorted out our youth system we'd be fairly consistently at the same level of Sweden and co. and then occasionally we'd get a freak generation and finally win something. Will anything be done? Probably not. I'd like to get involved but I'm emigrating soon enough so...

Then obviously the LOI, but that's for another thread...

Out of interest though, how does one get involved in the FAI and how did Delaney and the likes get so high up in the ranks?

They have to play on a Thursday in the semi and a Sunday if in the final. Would take a swap for playing Wednesday/Sunday like the others.

Only an average player, sure he doesn't even use his right foot unless he has to

Does he track back all the time?

    Puff ball prima donna

Germany have no really good players, no great players.

A very brave and gutsy performance from Greece tonight, very proud of the players in this tournament.

After Samaras equalised, Greece should have defended 11 men behind the ball for 10-15 minutes and kept it at 1-1 for as long as possible, but instead remained far too open and were then effectively sliced apart by 3 goals in 14 minutes.

I would have loved to have had a scenario where it was 1-1 with 35 minutes left to play with Karagounis on the pitch, doubt Germany would have gone on to score 3 so quickly.

Just try 'Royce', that's pretty close.

Specific incidents tend to stick in peoples minds watching on tv rather than overall play and the shot he took on with his left and missed should have been buried , probably with his right. I'd say that alone made up a chunk of that vote.

Finally managed to watch the second half of the match. Had to wait till 8 this morning for it to be uploaded onto the RTE Player. Better way to spend my morning than watching the Ireland/New Zealand match anyway.

Glad that Germany won. By far the better team. Even at that I thought they were poor enough at times. Schweinsteiger didn't seem to be fully fit or something. His passing was very off at times. I counted at least 5-6 times during the match where he gave the ball away. A few times it led to a Greek attack. He'll have to sharpen up for the next match.

Should be an interesting match between Germany and the winner of the other match. Has to be Germany for me. As long as they don't give the ball away stupidly then they should have enough to do the job.

Was it? It never came up on the page that I was looking at anyway. I'll know for future.

Yeah I was also waiting for it because I wanted to see Dunphy's post match opinion (because he was very pro-Greece) and I made the mistake of just refreshing the rte.ie/player home page every 10 minutes or so after midnight and thinking that it would be added as the newest available programme, but where it says 'Latest Programmes', I clicked on 'More', and it was the first option on that second page.

I noticed RTE player doesn't always list programming in any particular order, even now last night's Apres Match is listed on the home page.
