Good tig welder brands

Can anyone recommend a good brand of tig welder manufactuer please?

Have one of these at work ,best one we have gotten yet.Got a smaller unit for home €500 including torch/gas bottle reg/flowmeter etc.
ESAB units.. gone through three. probably too many users and abusers.

Forget about miller and Lincoln

unless you have 1000s to throw around.


Loads of cheap tig welders on ebay, but they often only include the bace unit and a couple of cheap leads for MMA only.

i have an esab and it has never let me down.

It all depends what you want.
Do you need:
Scratch tig
Lift tig
Hf
Pulse
DC
AC/DC For alunimium
Make sure you look at duty cycles as this is how long that you can weld within a hour before it stops to cool down.It is always a percentage.
Also the maximum welding rods that may want to burn with this,3.25mm..4mm??

Does it need to run on a generator?
Do you need to run long extension leads to it?
Is it going to be just a hobby machine or something more as lincoln have a 2 year warranty on their tig/mma machines.
And no these dont cost 1000s if it is just a standard machine.
