Could anyone recommend a good spot to stay in Galway for the August bank holiday weekend?

We would like to go to the races on the Friday and then head over to Inis Mor on the Saturday for the cliff diving. Unfortunately we have left it a bit late and most hotels are looking for €170 a night.

Can anyone recommend a decent B&B to stay in as I am not familiar with Galway at all?

There are a ton of b&bs in Salthill and on College Road, all are pretty much of a good standard. Check tripadvisor for reviews. Its going to be expensive no matter what so book fast.

It's 20 mins walk or so from the city centre, not far.

And on a regular bus service route, which'll cut the trip down by 7mins or so :pac:
