BUMP! LIMERICK - A CITY REBORN

Supported by Limerick communications office & Shannon Development
Bump, Limerick’s native electronic music festival, will return later this month, bringing with it a host of premium artists stretching from the local to the international. The focus this year is on quality, high-end artistry, workshops, lectures, parties, audio-visual showcases, exhibitions and exclusive movie screenings. By bringing the people together to share in the fun, we hope to inspire and enlighten them towards the many city venues that, week by week, deliver to the masses and keep the social network of Limerick city alive.

It is in this vein that we will be infiltrating city venues such as Mickey Martins, Dolans Warehouse, The Wicked Chicken, Bourkes Bar and Riddlers bar venue. A full weekend of gig listings has been programmed for each venue to all tie-in under the Bump banner, proudly. Workshops and lectures on the artistic end of music production will take place in Ormston house, with a 3D visual mapping showcase (happening after dark) set against an iconic city centre building. The idea being is to entice people into the city to celebrate how unique and advantageous our city can be once community support is both encouraged and nurtured.

Starting off the proceedings on Friday June 29th will be workshops provided by beats working in Baker place from 2pm covering DJing & music technology showcases. By stretching the event programme throughout both the day and night we hope to involve as many people as possible. We feel that our ethos is one that can be communicated and celebrated with all people, young or old. There will be something for everyone, whether it’s a night dancing away to some of the most respected artists in their field, or gazing in wonder as, what was once just bricks and glass, becomes a stunning array of colour and imagery right on the city streets.

Those hoping to further their knowledge of electronic music and its processes can come along to our workshops, where they can get involved in a practical manner with like-minded individuals. This concept has clear signs of longevity and it looks to the people to make it a mainstay in the summer social calender.
