Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tracksuit wearing individuals and Budweiser

I live within eyeshot of an offlicence and I can say without fear of contradiction every, lets say tracksuit clad but not an athlete, person that i've noticed going in comes out with a 6-pack, crate, slab whatever of budweiser. Without fail.

Its not the the cheapest gatt around but its without doubt the foulest pisswater known to man.

So why do our sporty friends drink it ? Do they think its fashionable and care what others in the bush see them drinking ?

    Answers on a postcard.

Really gets the taste buds going.

Because the like the taste of piss?

Because there has now been a link discovered between a lack of intelligence and Budweiser drinking? Because it is less syllables then the other lagers?

So you like to watch young men buying alcohol, durty.

    Advertising works.

Budweiser is superbly marketed. Think of the the Christmas ad with the Clydesdales. Think of the Budweiser frogs. Your 'tracksuit clad but not an athlete' type would be susceptible to advertising like that.

It is also a reason why so many young drinkers start with Budweiser (at least they did when I was starting off at about 17).

Budweiser is the only alcoholic drink you can mix with marijuana

You are surrounded by dope heads

Nope. I'm surrounded by knackers with no taste buds.

Better them drinking it all up than me mistakenly having some.
Does anyone over the age of 20 drink it?

Jameson and a nice spliff would beg to differ.

I think Bud gets bad press. Not the best beer out there but far from the worst.

Budweiser is quite cheap, its probably a recession thing. It has a premium branding I think, I don't drink myself but before I stopped entirely I would have had a few Budweiser beers down the local. Its not perceived as an under class beer in America anyway.

Im of a higher class then you cause i drink fancy beer no one can spell the name of bla bla bla ........

    Me arse.

Budweiser is tasteless. Just like "tracksuited" individuals.

    Bud...Johnny Blue....

They're not the most broad-minded people on the planet.

It's all about fitting in. You order a different lager in Clondalkin, you get a pool cue up your rectum.

Hmmmm......pool cue up arse but not drinking bud.....?? I'm 50/50...

In saying that, I'd rather any of them than your Erdinger craft beer boring morons.....at least you can have a bit of crack with a bud drinker.

aah bud isnt that bad now, a few weeks ago when it was sunny as fúck we were getting 10 cans of becks out of tesco for a fiver, it was the most disgusting shít i have ever drank, i had to drink amstel to flush out the taste, fúcking amstel!

Nope. I smoke john player blue and usually drink Carlsberg in a pub. I do like a fancy german beer every now and again but seriously noone can honestly defend Bud****ingweiser as a good beer.

    Its rats piss.

For the same price you would get twice the volume and taste in ALDI.

    E.G. Rheinbacher 6 x pint bottles for 6.??. Result.

Alright it ain't the best but its better than ****ing budweiser.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

Budweiser is a nicer and stronger beer than Carlsberg, FFS.

Carlsberg is below Fosters in the beer pecking order, and that is saying something.

Bud is the drink of choice for people who'd prefer a wkd but don't want to look ghey. It's basically a "beer" for people who don't like beer but want to be seen drinking something that looks like beer..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,324 ✭✭✭BillyMitchel

Wouldn't be a fan of it myself but 20 bottles for 15 yo yo's isn't a bad deal.

I'd find it hard to call Budweiser beer.

    Pissy shíte.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 675 ✭✭✭Eggonyerface

I drank it when I was younger. I think it was to do with being so aware of it. They had the frogs, the whasss up, the horses at Christmas, the one off 9/11 ad all over the internet, and 9 times out of ten if a beer was mentioned or a label seen on TV it was bud.

I never see it anywhere nowadays actually, so im not sure where our tracksuited friends excuses are, but maybe their taste buds will too mature some day. Do places even have it on tap anymore?!

Because urban-skangers deserve what every individual should enjoy regularly.

People have different tastes ffs.I think almost all wine is disgusting, same with sherry and gin.
I wouldn't knock anybody for drinking them.

When I do drink,I like a nice Fullers honey dew beer, because I like it.If people like the taste of Bud,that's their business.

Not sure about this statement. It's seen as the real bottom end of the market.

    Grab some bleeeeedin buds.....bud.

how old were they OP? i drank budweiser starting off because it was the lightest tasting like a lot of my friends would have-only over time my taste changed.originally thought all beer was rank....confused little soul.

OP...There is no real beer around that is affordable and many have never known anything else .........it's all variations of chilled and fizzed stale lucozade .

Probably cause they can't handle drinking actual beer.

Depends how much "product" they were able to shift.

Why wouldn't they be able to handle it? Budweiser is a lot stronger than a lot of beers.

It tastes weaker though. Not far off fizzy water.
