Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

CPC test part 1 (on test day)

    Hi,

    I got two letters from the RSA about my upcoming CPC test for a truck license. I understand the second part of the test is the actual practical driving test, but not much is said about the part 1 test, which is on before it. Will it just be a run of the questions already given before in the previous 2 theory tests? (multiple choice and case studies)?

    Letter 1: C - CPC TRUCK TEST PART 1
    Letter 2: CPC PRACTICAL TEST (TRUCK/ARCTIC)

    please help.

    The Practical truck test is really just a standard truck test, you'll be asked a few random questions in the test centre and asked what a few road signs mean. Then it's out to the truck where he ask the usual "How do you check the oil, What signs of wear would you look for in the tyres" etc etc then it's the pracictal which usually lasts 50-60 mins.

    When you get back to the centre you'll get 5-10 mins to relax etc and then you'll commence the CPC Truck test. It consists of technical questions on the vechicle .i.e securing the truck, checking for stoaways, where you store the first aid kit etc... Then you sit inside the truck where you'll be asked different scenarios and they're generally looking for a few answers not just one.

    For instance: What visual checks would you do on your truck each day?

    1. Check the tyre pressure
    2. Make sure all lug nuts are in place and secure
    3. Mirrors are adjusted and clean
    4. Wipers work and windows are free of debris
    5. Lights and signals all work
    6. Locks and doors haven't been tampered with overnight
    7. No people hiding over axels or inside truck

    Usually when they move to the next question they are happy with your answer, just keep talking that's what I did!
