    Hello,

Im looking for a pair of mics for stereo recording of classical sources from quartets to brass bands for example.

    Budget is 550 pounds/680 euro.

I've been looking into sE2200a Mark 2(LDC), Rode NT2a (LDC) and the NT55(SDC).

The NT2a gives me an alternative LDC for general studio recording. (Own a sE2200a already).
The NT55 is meant to have a very good omni capsule and even though there is no fig8 there are dedicated capsules for the two patterns available. This would add greatly to my SDC collection for guitars and things (i have a se1a stereo pair)

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Bbk

Apologies for the sloppy typing, cheap tablet giving me jip.

    Here's some more suggestions.

You could also consider the KAM MC-3 kit.

I'd tend more towards SDC microphones for a classical kit, unless I could afford something like a pair of 414's.

    Thanks.

The Oktavas look well speced. I was thinking of NT55 set and the Oktava set or NT55 set and NT5 set +NT45O.

    Shall consider my money :-)

    +1 for the Octava's - they're lovely - highly rated.

There's a pair on Adverts at the moment sitting there for a few weeks with an asking of 250.

Might be able to get a good deal on them - and no, they ain't mine ;p

Having good results with a pair of Little Blondies.
    They'll cost you €200 delivered.
