Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Quick question:

Often channels no longer work in my favourites group because the frequency has changed. I use the standard TP selection option to search the appropriate new frequency to get the missing channel back into the "all channels" area. From there I can re-add it to the favourites group and remove the old one.

My question is, is this the best way to do this? I end up with an ever growing list of "all channels" some working, some not. It would be too much work to go and remove the old channels from 'All Channels' as well. Scrolling a 500 channels list is crap on the 150.

here's a pre programmed list if its any help http://www.mediafire.com/download/gtue4bx75qp6xan/ariva_150_freesat_july_2015.abs Made a few weeks ago so there may be one or two channels missing . Back up your own list first in case you want to revert back .

You have two options in my opinion.
    1. Delete the lot and start from scratch. Tedious and time consuming but at least it's a full fresh start.

    2. Go to your TP List.
As you scroll slowly through the Transponders, look at the Signal Strength and Signal Quality meters at the bottom. If a TP is not transmitting, these will be greyed out. If they're greyed out, delete the TP.
This will delete any channels that have been tuned to your all satellites list or favourites list from that TP. In other words, non functioning channels because of a TP shutdown will be deleted.
Then do a blind scan and add any channels added to the bottom of the "All Satellites" list to your preferred favourites list, like you have been doing.

Option 2 will clear channels where the TP has been closed down completely -probably about 90% or more of non working channels. There may be an odd evader where the channel has been changed by the TP is still transmitting.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi lads and ladies,

New to boards.ie. I'm hoping someone may be able to help. I have an issue with my Ariva 150 box, in that every time I power off into stand-by mode all my channels disappear. I usually end up just installing the channel list again via a USB stick again. I never get any messages saying there are errors with the flash burning process. Its only recently that this has started to occur. I have never knowingly updated firmware on it or anything. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome to boards . Try a factory re set and then reload the channels via USB

Thanks for that Tony, I carried out those instructions and all seems to be working again. I have a few more music and news channels to manually install later that are not on the USB - Is their any way that this could cause a memory wipe after I do this? Iv'e read somewhere that some channels could cause a box to crash. Again thanks for any help ye can give.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,336 ✭✭✭✭Tony

It shouldn't do but I'd make a backup/ dump file just in case after you add new channels . Also if you select userdb when restoring from USB you should find it faster as its only restoring the channel database rather than the entire firmware.

I'm not sure about the 150, but the 120 certainly does delete the channels when installing patched firmware.

you would but you may possibly get more channels than without it

I'm afraid the only list I have is for FTA on 28E . There is an editor on the ferguson website. Perhaps other guys here might be able to provide a back up file for the satellites you need.

Nowso, seeing that your into greyhounds like myself, I remember we had a box a few years ago with the intertrack channels from tracks around Ireland tuned in. Is this possible anymore? I have an ARIVA 150. Thanks

No. Unless you were looking for a feed. Mind you. 9E. Eurofootball Gonki and Monitor Games show the SIS feeds of BAGS meetings with BISS encryption......

using the patch software includes Biss encryption codes which will need to be updated manually as they have changed

the old shelbourne feed on 0.8 thor are planned to be phased out but they may still be there on racenights

theres bookies tv via powervu on astra4 east . powervu i dont think will clear on Arriva boxs and the powervu codes are now changed every wednesday

the way to go is by the web

the igb site is 1 euro bet per race to view . there are ways to run the stream away from the site which i wont post here. but are an option

The monitor games uses some english commentaries from 7pm but finishes at 9 for some reason , but the graphics are annoying

Yeah i currently use igb to view them its the only option available it seems. Pity though, Paying 12 euro a night isnt ideal! have been looking for alternative options for years now.

if you pick a few winners it will make you money lol

24 dogs is an option - but does cost but you get the money back the next day if you bet that amount the advantage is the stream dont stop every race

there are some changes still to come with that site

Thanks Nowso. Just to say I get a broken link too.

A question on this firmware; one of the issues listed is "Fixed cases of clearing the channel list". I appear to be the only one on the board that gets this and so we thought it might be hardware; can you shed any light on the problem?

    Thanks again.

You are not trying to flash a 150 firmware onto a 153 model are you ?

Don't. It'll brick the box. Its just that you are in the 150 model thread. I don't know what you are quoting there.

@Nowso - is that the 150 firmware he is quoting ?

    It would explain the mismatch.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,714 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

i included the 153 patch in the dropbox aswell so hopefully he is using that and not the 150 patch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 290 ✭✭Pete2k

No iv been using these boxes for a long time and know better than to do something like that.
The reason I posted ere was because you posted the file links only in this thread and not the 153 one.
Av either of you actually tried flashing a 153 to see what i mean? I've tried 2 different 153's and same error on both. Not getting any ash message flashing on the front panel. And any other time I've gone from one software version to the next the box usually autodetects the new version on the usb stick but not this time.
I've also downloaded the 153 patch file from sat-universe that jakarti put up and same error

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,714 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

it would be the same file thats in sat universe just coming from different places

it might be a faulty file

if your older patch software is working ok its not 2 bad

Ok thanks I'll put the question up on sat-universe see if anyone there is avin the same issue. I do remember there was a patched file there a few months ago for the 153 that was causing the boxes to constantly reboot so perhaps another faulty file as u say

If anyone needs to re tune RT and NHK HD just go to either channel then select TP list from the menu and edit the symbol rate from 27500 to 23000. This will save you having to re scan and edit

Does anyone have an up-to-date channel list for the latest firmware version?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 376 ✭✭dos30

Does anyone have a channel list for 1.27B9?
Or else a copy of the 1.26b9 firmware which seems to be the latest version with a channel list I can find on here. The files linked to on previous posts are gone.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 698 ✭✭✭sin0city

    Hi all,

I've a 153 and haven't updated the firmware since I got it a year or two ago.

It's working fine - one thing I notice is that it can't play as many video files (through USB) as it used to as it's missing video codecs. So,

    i) Do the latest firmware versions include codec updates?
ii) If I do update is it just a matter of rescanning?

Sorry to drag up an old thread.... I have bought an ariva 4k combo box and there is a lip sync issue. Albeit only a very slight one. I have a hdmi connection into tv and this lead was fine with my old technistar stb. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It's firmware is up to date I think and no hard drive installed

    Ah, bit of a complication.
I've taken the firmware off the box and it is corrupted. Tried it several times, always clicking safely remove.... and no luck. And by corrupted I mean when I load it into the ali editor it crashes. I think it is actually 1.26b7.

This is the first time I've seen this as I've always kept the box pretty up-to-date. There are two latest releases on the website that I tried recently. The newer which is 1.31b2 slows my disk down during record so I just can't use it. So I'll have to give 1.27b9 a go.

So for now, sorry I don't have a channel list until I figure out whats gone wrong. What I can say is that my box is a little odd. I lose channels from my favourites list if I record a saorview channel when part of a mixed satellite/saorview list. Odd but so annoying. I think there may be a hardware fault causing this. So I wonder if this is also causing this latest issue. Might be on it's way out.

Gave my old Ariva 150 which was gathering dust to my dad for his house so if anyone has the latest channel list. much obliged.

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭PatchZ

Here's a link to my latest version; it's the patched 1.27b9. Fav group 1 has the main channels, extra channels in group 2, group 3 is news, 4 is music I think and 5 is kids. I deleted a lot of the repeated channels as well as tv sales, god & phone line channels.

For the Ariva 150 combo ONLY. Note I have the live tv disabled so you may want to re-enable that. Take the usual precautions when copying to a usb stick to reprogram the box i.e. safely remove from the pc after copying but before removing.

    Hi all,

Hoping someone here may be able to help.
The cable from my box comes in one side of the room with the dual feed.
I want to put the tv the other side of the room so what's the best way to extend it?

Are there male to female extenders or would I have to cut and solder or what?

Use this type of connector to join your existing cable to a length of coax with an F connector at either end.
