Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hannover won't have to get out of third gear to be honest. This is a Bundesliga team. A positive for Pats is Mame Biram Diouf is still recovering from a knee injury and won't be ready.

In saying that, their season does not start till 26th August, so they might struggle to reach 3rd gear.

I dont expect Pat's to go through, think they have done great to get this far, but could cause an upset at home in the 1st leg.

    Good showing by the junkballs.

Hanover sounds like a plum tie by the sounds of it.

Find it hard to believe that Pat's wage bill is 350?

Should be able to make a decent game of it with Hanover if not got through.

doesnt count joined us after that and greg has issues with him :D

    Sounds a low turnout.

Anyone know what the attendance was in Sligo?

Looks like the SDCC is getting another tenant.

I believe it when I see it. I find it very hard to believe there would be that much interest in such a low-profile tie.

wait til angela merkel hears about this!:p

when are we likely to see any tv details?

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭Plankton1

That's a very good idea from Bohs, fair play to them.

Can't see Pats progressing but they will put up one heck of a fight and do the league proud. Disappointing they can't play in Richmond, their record there speaks for itself!

It won't be a sellout so Oatsey you should defo get a ticket

dont see why they couldnt sell it out id say hannover would probably fill their allocation, and you'll always get a load of neutrals down.

John Lee said they were asked for 2000 tickets, going to believe him. And tv deal done as germans love their football. Was told that before the game deal was done with both clubs.

There wasn't much evidence of that when Pats played Hertha - the Olympic stadium (granted, it's massive) was near empty.

To be fair, v Hertha BSC we were 2-0 down and the kick off was some mental time like 5 in the RDS?

And, we all know why the crowd was gick at the Karpaty game!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,488 ✭✭✭celtictiger32

they have it down on the uefa site for 20.45 kick off presumably 19.45 over here, so hopefully the kick off time wont effect the numbers

we were paid well to move it to the tuesday as 3 other german teams in that round too and they wanted to show them all.

only 1 german team this time :)

Setanta have enquired about showing the home leg, they can **** off tbh. We should sell the rights to germans exclusively.

    Why would they?

thats what it cost last season including match day control. kinda what killed the club shop.

the important question is where are they going.its a great poster but wont do a lot of good if theres only a handful spread around a few mile radius of inchicore, lets hope they're plastered all over dublin

Would bet 20 quid that poster will be better seen on facebook and twitter than on any pole in dublin.

germans have taken one stand in Tallaght, we have the other. Not being a dick but i cba who buys tickets, every pats fan that can make it will. Germans have made this a nice windfall by showing up.

thats actually a good point for the 'how to fix our league' thread its very rare you would see any advertising for a loi match anywhere, im sure if there was a load of advertising posters around the city you might get a few new supporters in the gates

im not a pats fan but id gladly go and support them in a european game if i was free, likewise i gladly welcomed any other fans for example into landsdowne rd when we played deportivo etc. i reckon any club would welcome the extra gate money in the current climate i know some fans diagree with it but fvck it money talks

Awesome, and don't think celtictiger even realised he had kept it going.

As for ad posters Bohs have apparently been given a few bus shelters ad hoardings around Phibsboro by adshel.

It wouldn't justify the cost to the clubs.

The only way such a scheme would be feasible would be if it were funded by the FAI.
