Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    What exactly does this mean.

Have been using the revenue website to get what I thought would be the possible value of my current car, and any car I would be interested in. I understand the site is usally used for people to get how much VRT they would be liable if bringing in a car, but I also understood the OMSP is what you expect to pay if you were buying it here.

Am I wrong in thinking that? I ask beacuse the my current car is displayed at around what I would expect it to be worth, how ever the car I'm looking at is displayed as 2-3000 cheaper compared to any where I have seen it on donedeal or carzone.

It's what the VRT people estimate your car to be worth despite what it's really worth.

So it means I can try and get the worth for my own car if offered less, but not try and haggle the 2-3000 difference for the new car.

Historically, the OMSP shown on the VRO website would have been somewhat less than you'd actually pay for a good example. As always, any car is worth what someone will actually pay for it.

Omsp ! It always amazes me how nobody has challenged revenues use of omsp as a figure to calculate vrt . Omsp as a figure already includes vrt and so vrt is calculated as a % of a figure which already supposes its inclusion and so it is double taxing !
